I get error F1 every time I start and before the rinse cycle. I will change cycles, change settings within cycle menus, it tales at least three attempts of shutting it off and restarting it. Now it will not complete a full wash through rinse cycle. It stops, reports "F1" and the only thing I can do it set it to rinse only, several times to finish the load. What's up?

Here's the part # W10189966. I guess whirlpool had a recall on the units and revised the control boards. might want to call whirlpool on that. Good luck :)

I keep getting an F1 error code on my whirlpool elite washer at beginning of cycle and at beginning of rinse cycle, why?

F1 error code usually refers to a control board or touch pad failure in a whirlpool washer.

It has an F1 error code. It will start the water flow for about 2 seconds. Stops and beeps f1 on the screen. I hit the stop button and start again and have to repeat this 3 times before the wash machine...

The manufacturer has issued a remedy for the F-1. What you do is empty the machine of water and unplug it. Open the control panel and remove the pressure hose. Blow out the hose to remove sediment . Re secure it to the control and retry. No parts needed. F-1 Error infothemobilian_1223.jpg

Error code f 1

Hello, our carbio began flashing the F1 error code at 18 months. I have to hit the pause/start 4 or 5 times to get the cycle to begin. It also flashes occasionally at the rinse cycle (17 min.) I have called Whirlpool 3 times with little satisfaction. They have offered to pay for the part, but I will be responsible for the service call, diagnostic fee, and labor. I am not satisfied with this offer. It is obvious to me with so many others experiencing the same problem that Whirlpool has a quality issue with this machine. The sales rep who sold me the machine said to call Whirlpool everyday until they are sick of hearing from me. The more calls logged about the complaint, the better chance of a recall on the machine. If this is not resolved, I will NEVER buy Whirlpool again.

I have started a petition to be sent to the CEO of Whirlpool Corp., Jeff Fettit.

The wash time continues to increase on every cycle. I have a Maytag Neptune TL Washer.

Thank you my machine model number. The reason I ask is so many folks post non FAV6800A/FAV9800A issues in this forum. This forum doesn’t ask for machine model number and serial number. Here we go.

Does your machine seem to take longer than normal to fill with water?

Does the machine increase the time during the Spin Cycle of the Wash Cycle?

Are there any error codes to the LED display such as dC or uC?

Do you want to work toward a DIY fix? If not maybe we can get a solid feel for the issue that will help you in the decision process to bring in a repair company or replace.

So I can better understand the issue can you start a Quick Wash cycle with Soil and Spin settings set to lowest setting and if you could place a couple of bath towels in the wash basket for a load.

I want to see if the machine will go thru the Wash, Rinse and Spin cycle within the 27 to 29 min time of a Quick Wash cycle. I want to see if the machine is increasing Washer Cycle time in the Spin Cycle of the Wash Cycle.

You should enter the Rinse Cycle at the 20 min mark on the LED display.

You should enter the Spin Cycle at the 10 min mark on the LED display.

Watch the cycle and see if you have similar times as I do. Let me know if the washer has any off balance issues as it enters into the Spin Cycle…..Rich

F1 error code

This was copied from a website called WORLD OF WASHERS....I just copied the whole paragraph......sounds like some $$$
Let me know if this helps.......mtg

I am new to this online blog stuff, so I figured an email would be best. I own a Kenmore Elite Oasis washer Model #110.27042602. Everytime we try to use the washer we get error code F1 flashing. This happens withins seconds of the machine first starting to fill and about ten times thereafter until enough water gets into the tub for balance, I assume. We have started pouring about 2 gallons of water onto the clothes in the tub by hand before starting the machine which usually works. About half the time the machine stops again between wash and rinse cycle as it starts to fill with water again.

In my online research, I guess its good we don't have error code F51, but this is a pain and 1 year warranty has passed. It appears I may need to get a new Machine Motor Control Assembly. Any thoughts????

Thank you,
Darrell S.

Darrell,

I'm probably not going to tell you anything you don't already know. You know you may have to replace the motor control assembly, so you have done your due diligence.

I found a thread related to your problem at the "Samurai Appliance Repair Forums" at ApplianceGuru.com. That link will take you to the discussion, in case you haven't already read it. The poster described a situation identical to yours, and I have also read of this problem at other sites on the web.

Contained within that thread is a link to a Service Matters (Whirlpool Corp.) tech sheet related to the F1 error code. This is the document any qualified servicer will refer to when addressing your problem. Here is a link to that sheet in case you want to have it on hand in the event of a service call.

The tech sheet calls to replace the control, but only after three other tests have been conducted. Everything I have read indicates the control will be replaced the vast majority of the time. I am not a technician, but I would say there really is no way around that.

Please keep in mind that this sheet applies to specific models and serial numbers within the Whirlpool line. There may be a separate sheet for your washer, but I imagine the end result is the same.

The million dollar question is how much will such a repair cost. I am seeing prices ranging from $150 to $200 just for the part. With labor, you will probably have at least $300 invested in this repair. I would encourage you to contact Whirlpool at 866-769-7260. I have read instances of other owners receiving satisfactory service in out-of-warranty situations via this number. Whirlpool knows these washers are ****, so they no doubt have a scripted procedure in place to deal with these situations. Be firm, but also be polite. Maybe drop the word "recall" and see what happens.

F1 Alarm @ rinse cycle

F1 code = Primary Control Failure. Replace the machine/motor control assembly. If you use a screw driver in front of the machine to open the top you will find a repair manual on the inside of the front panel. or depending on the model, you can even unscrew the bottom and find the manual. The manual inside is actually meant for technicians. It contains the error codes and instructions related to them.will be looking forward for your comments if there is any further problem in this.
