Disconnect the beeper speaker or muffle the speaker sound with something like tape across it.

SOURCE: How do you turn the beep off?

Finally worked out how to do this today! I don't know what model you've got (I don't know what one I've got - it's built in and we've lost the manual) but try pressing the START button for six seconds. This should change the default from 30 beeps to 3 beeps. Bliss.

SOURCE: sylvania p70d20al-d5 microwave keeps beeping

I have the same problem with my microwave, the clock disappears and it says "enter" and "amt", I figured out it's the "beverage" button that is sticking. When I want to use it I just press "beverage" and then "reset" and just press them over and over until it stops. Usually it's on the first try, sometimes I have to press them a few times. Just don't do what I'm about to type though, I decided to get my razor knife and cut the button out carefully, I only cut the contacts on each side of the button, now no buttons work, I should have left it the way it was, at least I could use it that way.

SOURCE: Kitchenaid KCMS185JSS-3 microwave - no power

Well your gonna have to take it down a take apart the microwave more than likely. Probably have a shorted HV diode, magnetron, shorted winding in HV transformer.burnt or frayed HV wire insulation

SOURCE: Microwave keeps shutting off

The magnetron is overheating, tripping the thermostat, which shuts off all power until it cools down.

This is usually caused by a blocked air vent, failed internal cooling fan, or failing magnetron.

If it's out of warranty, I'm sure you'll find it's uneconomical to repair, even if you could get parts for this brand.

Good luck.

How do i disable the beeper

Hello Friend, thank you for allowing me to assist you!

I see that your question is listed under Frigidaire microwave FFCE2238LW. Typically you will hear a series of beep once your food is done heating or defrosting has finished. For this purpose, the beeping signal cannot be deactivated and I show that the volume is not adjustable for your model. Most microwaves are preset to do this. Best regards! - Z

Turn off beeping sound on touchpad oster countertop

If the owner's manual does not mention this as an option, the only other option would be to disable the piezo beeper.

Here's a video showing you one way:

Turn off sound

If the owner's manual doesn't offer that as an option, there are three ways:
- desolder the piezoelectric element (beeper)
- cut one of both of its leads
- snap it out of the circuit board (see video)

KOT-170SW volume of beeper dropped, can barely hear now. Any assistance appreciated. Norm NC3F [email protected]

If the microwave is used rather often, the circuit board for the beeper does have a tendency to overheat ,what was once a "high pitched beep"is now a "low pitched beep".nothing can really be done to correct this.If the microwave is still covered by factory warranty, contact the factory.

Oster Model # OM1101NOE, As others have asked, is there a way to decrease the volume or disable the beep?

This may not be the best solution but I have had a really bad experience with the loudness of the Oster. My girls get up at 5 am to get ready for school and the constant beeping of the pad and the finish bell was soooo disturbing. So I took off the front panel with the number pad and took a screwdriver and poked a hole in the speaker......viola!! NO noise!!! works like a charm

Spacemaker xl (1999)low volume beep

According to the owner's manual (available here), there is a beeper volume on some models in this series. If yours has one, press it and then press 0 to 3 to control the volume (0 mutes the beeper and 3 is loudest).

If your model doesn't have the beeper volume control it's just that the beeper is going bad. They sometimes do that, getting faint or quitting entirely. You can't get a replacement beeper from GE, only the entire control circuit board.

The beeper is a piezoelectric type. Radio Shack sells a variety of beepers. If you know someone who can replace electronic components, they may have one that could be used on the board. Changing the beeper for one not the same as the original would not affect the oven's operation or safety, so that's an option. I'd do that myself if I were repairing this for a friend. But you might not be able to get a professional service shop to do this because of liability concerns. They would most likely replace the entire board.

With luck, your oven just has the volume down. Hope this has helped, and thanks for using Fixya!

Disabling the beep on a Kenmore microwave

I have Kenmore microwave model 721.61820100.
It has an "Option" button. Press it. The display say "NUMBER"
Then press "1". The display should say "SOUND" and then "OFF".
Press "Start" and that beast turns silent, well not really, but the beeps are goooone.

If for some reason you don't like it this way repeat the sequence and the sound this time will turn "ON".

The beeps have become inaudible.

The beeper sound level can be adjusted. Press the BEEPER VOLUME button, then choose 0–3 for mute, medium or loud.

If that doesn't work, unplug the oven a few minutes, plug it back in, then try again.

If you don't have your owner's manual you can find and download one here:

Turn off Beep on old Magic Chef microwave

On some older models, there is a sliding switch on the bottom edge of the control panel that turns it off. I've seen these on older Amanas, but not sure about others.

In newer models, they have some kind of help key which will get to to a menu which will turn it off.

Other models in between usually don't have that feature. In such cases, I as a technician have removed the beeper or taped over it to make it quieter, or even lifted one leg of a resistor attached to the beeper.

Someone less technical or less patient could just push the beeper sideways until it snaps off. No more beeps! *grin* And really, it is much weaker than the circuit board so it's a viable, if inelegant solution.

One other thing is to call Magic Chef with your model number:
