both screws all the way in then back out 1 1/2 - 2 turns
hold at full throttle and start and keep at full throttle
adjust the screw closest to the air cleaner until the engine runs at full rpm easily
no slowly let off the throttle until and idle is reached and adjust the other needle ( closest to the butterfly) until it idles easily
adjust idle speed using the screw on the end of the cable
I'm not sure about your year or generation mower. Does your Weedeater have a plastic Carb? If so, is it a one or two piece. You can clean them with gasoline or a cleaner called Deep Creep (From Sea Foam). A sonic jewelry cleaner does a fantastic job loosening up debris. Fill with some Simple Green or purple Magic and dilute with water. Anything harsh like CARB or BRAKE cleaner will mess up the Carb. If it is worn out then buy a new one for $25.
This could be caused by several things, so lets walk through some steps and do a process of elimination. First, can you manually idle the mower down with you hand by working the carburetor butterfly manually not with the throttle cable, if not and the butterfly or throttle plate if you will is operating but not allowing the engine to idle down then something is in carb , dirt most likely not letting the carb perform as needed. If operating the carb by hand did work then either the throttle linkage or the governor need adjusted. I hope this helps.
easy... if the carb adjustments are still factory set the you just need to replace the muffler screen or also called a spark arrester.it covers the muffler exit....
Without removing them and slotting the heads on them, a special tool to turn them is available. They have them on E-bay and sell for about $10 and up...but be careful messing with the factory settings as the carb is quite sensitive to change, unless it is so worn that it needs to be rebuilt.
