2002 dodge grand caravan se 3.3 V6

In a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan SE with a 3.3 V6 engine, there are several fuses that you can check if the front heat/air/defrost is not working. These fuses are located in the engine compartment and in the passenger compartment fuse box.

To check the fuses in the engine compartment:

Locate the fuse box cover on the driver's side of the engine compartment.
Remove the cover by pressing in the tabs on the sides of the cover.
Look at the fuse diagram on the inside of the cover or in the owner's manual to determine which fuses to check. The fuses related to the front heat/air/defrost are typically labeled "HVAC" or "Blower Motor."
Use a fuse tester or a multimeter to test the fuses. If the fuse is blown, it will need to be replaced.
To check the fuses in the passenger compartment fuse box:

Locate the fuse box under the dashboard on the passenger side of the vehicle.
If checking the fuses does not resolve the issue with the front heat/air/defrost, there may be a problem with the blower motor or the HVAC system

2008 corolla dash lights n tail lights went out. Checked fuses all ok.

tail Fuse 18--15 amp, interior fuse box.
Not only check the fuse, check the fuse circuit for voltage, hot all the time, use a test light to check for voltage.
There is another fuse and fusible link involved. First, check for voltage on the tail fuse.
Some people want to know exactly what the problem is w/o any testing, usually, I can't do that.

My 2011 Chevy Malibu tail lights are out, is it a fuse or bulb? Thanks

IF both lights are out most likely a fuse, check the drivers manual for location of fuse, check both sides of the fuse with a test light, must be voltage both sides, no voltage , cable from light switch to fuse faulty. voltage to only one side of fuse, fuse faulty. voltage to both side of fuse , cable to tail lights faulty, bulbs faulty or bad earth to tail lights.

Where is the fuse for the rear window defroster for a 2003 ford windstar

The fuse panel is below and to the left of the steering wheel by the brake pedal. Remove the cover to access fuse panel. There should be a fuse puller tool fastened to the fuse panel cover. check the fuse in position number 10(it should be a 10 amp fuse). Also check relay number 5 which is the Rear Defrost Relay. If both the fuse and Relay are good, check under the hood for the power distribution box. Locate it, disconnect the battery, open the power distribution box, check fuse number 121 (it should be a 20 amp fuse). Check also fuse number 116(it should be a 30 amp fuse). Replace the faulty one(s) and then close the Power Distribution Box. Reconnect the battery. Hope this helps! Blessings!

My ac/heater stopped working yesterday (2004 Honda Accord EX). I've read posting relating to the blower motor as the possible cause. I'm not sure which fuse controls this. I wanted to check this first....

Yes, I would check the 40A fuse for 'Heater Motor' but there may be another fuse under the dash that controls the ac/heater.

I would get a fuse tester from Walmart or a parts store included with a set of various fuses.

The fuse tester can be used to quickly test all of the fuses in a particular box in maybe 5 minutes of your time.

It's like a miniature test light that goes on when an energized fuse has a break in it. This saves a lot of time and the risk of putting the fuse back where it does not belong.

Inspect/Test/Replace There are three basic types of fuses in automotive use: blade, ceramic, and cartridge.
f14-353184.jpg Blade fuse, ceramic fuse, and cartridge fuse.
Occasional fuse failure can be due to a defective fuse. Corrosion on the end of the fuse can cause failure too.
The cartridge fuse is found on most older domestic cars and a few imports. To check this type of fuse, look for a break in the internal metal strip. Discoloration of the glass cover or glue bubbling around the metal end caps is an indication of overheating.
Late-model domestic vehicles and many imports use blade or spade fuses. To check the fuse, pull it from the fuse panel and look at the fuse element through the transparent plastic housing. Look for internal breaks and discoloration.
The ceramic fuse is used on many European imports. The core is a ceramic insulator with a conductive metal strip along one side. To check this type of fuse, look for a break in the contact strip on the outside of the fuse.
A visual check of the fuses in questions can sometimes show a burned fuse. Sometimes, a fuse can blow where it cannot be seen.
f37-193184.gif Test a questionable fuse with an ohmmeter.
All types of fuses can be checked with an ohmmeter or test light. if the fuse is good, there will be continuity through it.
When inspecting fuses, also inspect the fuse link:
  • Fuse link wire is covered with insulation that bubbles if a fuse link melts.
  • The blisters on the insulation indicate the failure in the fuse link.
  • If the insulation appears good, pull lightly on the wire.
  • If the link stretches, the wire has melted.
  • Of course, when it is hard to determine if the fuse link is burned out, check for continuity through the link with a testlight or ohmmeter.

I bought my car used from someone and it didnt come with the owners manuel and the cover of the fuese box is missing so i need to know which fuses r wich!! plz help

REPLACEMENT
  1. Locate the fuse for the circuit in question. NOTE: When replacing the fuse, always use a replacement fuse of the same amperage value. NEVER use one with a higher amperage rating. On some vehicles, you may have to remove a cover for access to the main fuse block 88256p51.jpg
The fuse panel cover has a label with the fuse designations on it 88256p52.jpg

  2. Check the fuse by pulling it from the fuse block and observing the element. If it is broken, install a replacement fuse the same amperage rating. If the fuse blows again, check the circuit for a short to ground or faulty device in the circuit protected by the fuse. Locate the fuse which needs to be checked . . . 88256p53.jpg
. . . then pull it out of the fuse block 88256p54.jpg

Fig. 2: After you pull the fuse from the block, check the element 88006p42.jpg
Fig. 3: Visual examination will reveal a blown fuse, but it should not be replaced until repairs are made 88006g76.gif

  3. Continuity can also be checked with the fuse installed in the fuse block with the use of a test light connected across the 2 test points on the end of the fuse. If the test light lights, replace the fuse. Check the circuit for a short to ground or faulty device in the circuit protected by the fuse.

Car wont start

It's very likely that the battery was jumped backwards which is what normally happens when this condition occurs, under the hood in the large fuse box near the battery check the 120A alternator fuse, it's a large fuse with a clear cover on it, this fuse is probably blown along with a few other ones, the main thing is to get this fuse replaced so the other fuses can get voltage, this fuse is not exactly easy to replace because it has two bolts inside the fuse box, the fuse box has to be disassembled to get this fuse out, another option is to bridge the gap of the fuse with a drop of solder, this should allow the car to be driven until the fuse can be replaced, check the other fuses marked EFI,IG,ECU B+, just check them all to be sure.
