HI i have put in a new grill, where fan is constantly on, does this mean I have connected to live and neutral crossed ?many thanks martene

Your question is not mate. What do you exactly want to do? If I understand that you have a single phase apparatus you wanted to connect it from a three phase box. If that is the case, then you have three options:
1. If the wires are new colour coded ones then you have to take your neutral wire from the blue wire and the live from any of the other three.
2- for old colour codes , take the neutral from the black wire and the live from any of the other three.
3- finally. Connect the neutral from the black or blue and the live from any of the other three red ones if the wires are in a conduit or trunking. I hope this answers your questions. Good luck

The oven will not warm if the clock is not set as the main oven is directly linked to it. You may want to check your wiring to the element you have changed as all elements use the same neutral path, meaning if you missed a wire off (especially if you pulled it out through the oven cavity) or have put them on the wrong tab it won't work. It could also be a duff element (the new one).Let me know if you need any further help.

You can put the live and neutral on either of the outer terminals terminal. It really doesn't matter. It's the same principle as not needing to screw in a bayonet light bulb a certain way round. As long as the circuit is complete, it will work correctly.

To put it in the simplest terms, attach the earth wire to the shorter centre terminal with the live and neutral wires on the two outer terminals and job's a good 'un.

Live goes to live as normal earth to earth as normal, and the neutral is probably a comonj terminal, in other words it probably has a lnk joining the 2 neutrals together.

Your problem is related to incoming power or range internal wiring.
Verify 220 volts to the range. Pay attention to the wire connections being tight especially the neutral wire.

If the fan is working o/k, then you need a new fan oven element fitting.
Remove panel at rear of oven compartment, there you will see the element, undo any screws you can see to remove rear cover.
disconnect element taking care not to loose wires, and fit new element. test before you refit rear cover.

If fan has stopped altogether, then you definately need a new one, to be sure you need to disconnect and remove the fan and bench test it.
Hook up a 240v supply to the fan and see if it runs, if not then it is no good..
It does not matter which terminals you connect live and neutral too as it is common to both terminals. do not connect feed to earth by mistake.

The light bulb is the oven light.
The snowflake with 3 raindrops is Defrost Mode (fan runs with no heat to reduce defrost time)
The 2 lines up top & down bottom is Traditional Cooking (heat from top & bottom elements)
The big circle with a fan is the Fan forced Oven
The small line at top only is the Grill Mode
The larger line at top only is the Double Grill Mode
The line up top with the fan underneath is Double Grill with Fan mode
The line on the bottom with fan on top uses the lower element with the fan for delicate dishes

Use your original wire and hook up Left to right Line Neutral, and Ground. L N G. Black wire is Line. Green wire is Ground. not sure what UK uses for Neutral. I just know that you need a big wire. And the voltage is supposed to be 220-240Volts.
