Go to menu on the remote. At bottom of the menu screen, look for Setup. From that you will see a window pop up with 5 tabs. I believe you go to the 5th tab. You will see the Filter area. Hit enter to enable..then you will see a CEARl button, hit enter on the remote to clear. You will get another message to make sure you want to do that...of you do..press enter on remote. If you got back to man menu screen ..see information at the bottom, enable that, you will see info in there about Filer hours..same place where you will see your bulb usage..the hours.Go to menu on the remote. Yes to get the clean filter light to go off, you have to clean filter, put back in the machine, and hold down the power button for 3 secs to reset it. the clean filter light will go off!
Let them soak: Allow the filters to soak for 10 minutes. Scrub the filters: After soaking, take a non-abrasive scrub brush and scrub the filters. Add more dish soap to your brush if required while you scrub. Rinse and dry: Rinse the filters thoroughly in hot water and dry with a paper towel or clean cloth.

Mine had a latch on the back top with a label, " pull up to clean if crackling". I pulled it up and observed a wiper sliding up the big wire inside. I did it up and down several times and that fixed mine.
have you cleaned the connections where the filter connects . There is prob dust and dirt down inside the filter , keeping it from making a good connection. The zapping sound is from the electricty jumping the gap. A good cleaning of the inside should help. Try attaching a small hose to your vac to fit down inside the unit. give the electrical connections a good cleaning . If that dosen't work take unit apart and wipe down with alchol that you can buy at any drugstore
Unplug the machine and unscrew the phillips head screw on the back grill of the machine, that is just above the plug. There are depressions on the sides of the back grill that has a plastic tang that hold the back grill to the machine. Press the back grill inwards to allow the tangs to clear the sidee and the back grill should now be easily removed. Remove the two thumb screws on the top corners to remove the filter. Once the filter is removed, then you can remove the purification plate and remove the two screws that hold the RCI cell. The RCI cell and filter can be cleaned by vacumming out the dust and dirt.
The purification plate can be cleaned with a old toothbrush and a water and amonia solution. Scrub the metal grid with the toothbrush. Do both sides and then rinse with water, allow it to dry completely before reinstalling the plate. After every part is cleaned reassemble the purifier, and plug it in. Then press the reset reminder button on the front of the keypad to clear the "perform cleaning" message. This message will appear again after the purifier runs for 30 days to remind you to clean the purifier. Hope this helps you.
The clicking noise is the sound of the high ionizing voltage 'shorting' due to dirt or humidity or both which provides the pathway for discharge. Cleaning and completely drying the filter(s) does not always help, in this case switching the unit to a lower operational speed can mitigate this problem. New filter(s) may be needed to resolve the clicking.
I believe that a blue blinking light indicates that the stainless steel collection blades need to be wiped clean. The unit uses these blades instead of a replaceable filter. Simply wipe them clean with a damp cloth and you should be ready to go!
Did you blow out the drain? If so pull the front off of the air handler unit. Ckean out drain pan. This drain pan had small holes on either side that run from the sode drain clean those out. Also if your coil is dirty it will pull water back and cause it to leak. Try cleaning coil and dain pan plus blow out drain. Rus
You probably have an open circuit in the high voltage circuit. Most likely cause is a broken or disconnected wire. The high voltage wires are very small diameter stainless steel and are connected to alternating aluminum plates by a crimp connection at the ends of the plated. If you insert an object like a brush or wood tongue depressor/popsickle stick in to scrub the plates during cleaning you run the risk of pulling the wires lose or worst case, breaking them. If you just pulled some loose they can be repaired ( I know because I have done it) but you have to partially disassemble the cleaner cartridge to get to the end of the plate(s) with the disconnected wire(s), open the tab that grips the wire, insert the wire in the tab, re-crimp it, and then re-assemble the cleaning unit. I would rate it as moderately difficult. Be careful in bending all the tabs as they are aluminum and will break if bent too much or too many times. Good luck.
My ionic pro did the same, the red light just wouldnt go out, so I looked down the plate opening, (with unit unplugged), and could see one of the wires was broken. (these are the ones you clean by pulling up that plastic tab). I am currently looking for replacement wires, will post my progress. GregV
MAKE SURE THAT YOUR CELL(S) ARE CLEAN ... CLOSELY INSPECT TO SEE THAT THERE ARE NO BROKEN IONIZING WIRES (THE SMAAL STAINLESS-STEEL WIRES THAT ARE BETWEEN THE COLLECTOR PLATES).
MAKE SURE POWER GOING INTO UNIT TO IS "OFF"!!!
... NOT JUST THE SWITCH ON THE UNIT. THEN TRY THE FOLLOWING:
THIS AIR-CLEANER THAS A AIR-FLOW SENSOR THAT SOMETIMES GETS CLOGGED ... IT IS INSIDE THE TOP CONTROL PANEL. THERE SHOULD BE A DIAGRAM UNDER THE CONTROL BOX COVER PLATE TO ASSIST YOU LOCATING THAT SENSOR. MAKE SURE IT IS CLEAN.
THE HIGH-VOLTAGE TRANSFORMER BEING BAD USEUALLY WILL SMELL LIKE BURNT WIRING. AND WILL LOOK BURNT. MAKE SURE YOU SEE NO LOSE WIRES ... SOME TIMES THE SPARK-PLUG LOOKING WIRE GOING TO THE CELL(S) CAN BURN OFF ITS CONNECTOR.
YOU CAN CHECK THE DOOR SAFETY SWITCH TO MAKE SURE IT IS MAKING CONTACT WHEN HANDLE IS PROPERLY CLOSED.
GOOD LUCK ...
HOPE YOU HERE THAT ZAPPING SOON ...
BY THE WAY ... IF YOU GET A POWER LIT ON ... GIVE THE RETURN-AIR DUCT A SLIGHT BANG ... IF IT IS WORHING IT SHOULD SNAP CRACKLE AND POP FOR A FEW SECONDS.
MAKE SURE YOU SEE NOTHING (HAIR?) LYING ACROSS THE PLATES OR IOMIZING WIRES ON EACH CELL IF YOURS HAS TWO.
ELECTRIC AIR CLEANERS ARE ONLY GOOD WHEN THEY ARE KEPT CLEAN ... PET HAIR IS A CONSTANT MAITENCE PROBLEM AND CELLS SHOULD BE LEANED EVERY TWO WEEKS. FOR BEST PERFOMANCE.
