Closing and reopening it should have done it. Im not clear on exactly what it is you have in incognito mode. If its Chrome you can reset it as shown here:

Reset your browser settings

  1. In the top-right corner of the browser window, click the Chrome menu
  2. Select Settings.
  3. At the bottom, click Show advanced settings.
  4. Under the section "Reset settings," click Reset settings.
  5. In the dialog that appears, click Reset.
You could also uninstall/reinstall. Hope this helps and if your issue is with something other than Chrome please post back with more information. Online Virus Removal and PC Help Contest

I now have an incognito which I don't want and have lost my wrench to use my bookmark's choce

Yes I noticed they got rid of the wrench also it's just three horizontal lines now. But its in the same place as the wrench was if you hover your mouse over it. It will say "Customise and control Google Chrome". As for the incognito mode it's a fairly new feature that lets you surf the web anonymously you don't have to use it if you don't want to. That being said if Chrome opens to incognito mode without you wanting it to. Go to this link http://revision3.com/tzdaily/default-private-browsing, it will show you how to turn it on just do the opposite to turn it off.

I cannot get onto the internet I keep getting the mesage I am incognito

Incognito mode (browse in private) For times when you want to browse in stealth mode, Google Chrome offers the incognito browsing mode. Here's how the incognito mode works:
    • Webpages that you open and files downloaded while you are incognito aren't recorded in your browsing and download histories.
    • All new cookies are deleted after you close all incognito windows that you've opened.
    • Changes made to your Google Chrome bookmarks and general settings while in incognito mode are always saved.
Tip: If you're using Chrome OS, you can use the guest browsing feature as an alternative to incognito mode. When browsing as a guest, you can browse the web and download files as normal. Once you exit your guest session, all of your browsing information from the session is completely erased.

    Chrome Incognito Mode

    from google:
"For times when you want to browse in stealth mode, for example, to plan surprises like gifts or birthdays, Google Chrome offers the incognito browsing mode. Webpages that you open and files downloaded while you are incognito won't be logged in your browsing and download histories; all new cookies are deleted after you close the incognito window. You can browse normally and in incognito mode at the same time by using separate windows.
Browsing in incognito mode only keeps Google Chrome from storing information about the websites you've visited. The websites you visit may still have records of your visit. Any files saved to your computer will still remain on your computer."
Hence it an option to maintain privacy..the same feature is included in IE8(beta)
    Hope it helps!
