I posted on another question, I found that the problem was that the housing for the switch control was loose, as it did not snap shut. If you remove the lower panel and jiggle the wires, you may find that the problem goes away. This still points to loose connections in the control switch. I removed the switch wire assembly, having to cut the rubber "boot" near the door and taped the plastic housing shut. The problem appears to be that the drum, during the course of washing, would bump this plastic housing and cause the wires to become loose.

Why does my Frigidaire Gallery Front loader washing machine not spin?

Hello Friend, thank you for your inquiry!

I interpret from what you have described that your Frigidaire washer possibly has a faulty bearing or something may be lodged between the inner and outer drums. This is not a typical do-it-yourself job. Personally, I would recommend reaching out to a qualified appliance repair person who will be best able to pinpoint the exact problem. I hope this information helps to some degree. - Z

My 10+ yrs old Frigidaire gallery # GLTF1240AS front-loader drum won't agitate/spin

Check and see if the drive belt broke? On mechanical agitators using gears, a solenoid may fail and drive motor won't function.

Frigidare Gallery 2 speed top loader fills with

It could be multiple problems, if so it's more than one of the below, it would be cheaper to buy a new unit.

Start by removing the front panel and check the belt and idler pulley/tensioner. Look for wear in both and make sure there isn't too much play (it should only move about a 1/2 inch when pushed on it's longest stretch. While you have the front open, inspect the pulley for damage or excessive play.

Another cause could be the transmission (it's just above the pulley). Look for fluid/oil leaks and/or rust. A bad oil leak can cause the transmission to seize up. If you notice rust accumulated on the transmission assembly, you probably have a bad seal. Water could have gotten in there causing it to fail. A damaged transmission needs to be replaced, repair parts are not available.

The cycling problem sounds like a faulty timer. Test it by advancing the dial and make sure the correct cycles are starting/stopping. This part can be replaced with a few simple tools.

As always, make sure you disconnect the power before doing any service.
