SOURCE: Door lock
Run a diagnostic on the door lock system; To place the unit in "service mode", close the door completely then press and hold both the "Delicates" and "Heavy Soils" keys for three seconds. Motor speed will be displayed. Press "rinse" to access the main board output function. Then press "max extract"... this is the test for the door lock. Did it lock? To exit, press "max extract" again and then both "Delicates" and "Heavy Soils" for three seconds. VOLTAGE TESTS AHEAD!!! IF YOU AREN'T SURE YOU CAN DO IT, THEN DON'T! CALL A PROFESSIONAL! If the door did not lock, you'll need a voltmeter and an hour or so. Open the door, remove the screws holding the door hinges, then remove the 2 screws (and shims) opposite the door hinges and close the door (do not take it off). Then grasp the front panel at the top near where it meets the top panel and pull toward you quickly. Lean it forward and remove it from the 2 clips at the bottom. Just below the top panel, now exposed, are the top panel retainers... use a 5/16" to remove the one screw on both sides and remove the retainer clips. Now lift the top panel up just like the hood of a car. You can now see the door latch assy. Remove the 2 wires on the solenoid and insert your meter probes into each one of them (color doesn't matter). Set your meter to read AC Voltage, then re-enter "Service Mode" and follow the steps to door lock test. When you hit the "Max Extract" key, 120 volts should be sent to the meter. If you get 120 volts, your latch assy. has failed and should be replaced. If you don't get 120 volts, your control board output has failed and needs to be replaced. Hope this helps.

Start the washer in a cycle. When the door locked light comes on, before unit gets to full of water, see if you can pull door open. If so, you probably have a broken latch. The wax motor is activating the switch, but latch is not actually closing. There was a door latch upgrade for some of these models.
SOURCE: Washer door won't lock
Two parts problem, motherboard burn and wax motor inoperation. The wax motor operate the open and lock. wax motor exposed to moisture and ground out causing the motherboard to short circuit (burn) the motherboard circuit board is on the top behind the panel. It will cost about 300.00 check ebay too! I replaced my washer because there is another circuit board down below the tub and it takes one bad leak that cost another 300.00.

Open the soap dispenser. Look down in front of the fabric softener dish.
You should see a yellowy-green plastic cord (like weed-whacker line). Pull it.
The door should open.
If you don't see the cord, remove the four screws that hold the dispenser lid in place to find it. Just don't lose it when you put the cover back on.

HI - UNDER THE CORNER OF THE SOAP UNIT YOU WILL FIND A GREENISH YELLOW NYLON - PULL ON THAT TO UNLOCK THE DOOR.
Hello and welcome to FixYa
DL f is a door lock error and is caused due to an
issue with the door lock when it is unable to lock/unlock. Please check the
door lock mechanism/door switch assembly and replace the part that has gone bad
so that the issue is resolved. Please get back to me if you have any other
questions.

Hi Bernadette joynes, I want to help you with your question, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box? Not sure what you mean by "locked button" goes off and on. The light should come on when you open the door and off when you close the door.
