There is no lock on that door and the only latch is a magnetic gasket around the door edge. It sound like one of your frozen packages make have shifted and is causing the door to stick by hitting the package. Just guessing on this one but maybe if you can bounce or jar the refrigerator somewhat the package may move enough to open the door.

My 5-month old Frigidare refrigerator is warm on the outside of the freezer door. Also it has just started making an intermittent high-pitched noise Model LFSS2612TF4 Do I need a repairman sent in?

No, there are heaters around the edge of the freezer door to stop condensation and the subsequent freezing shut of the door. That would tear the rubber gasket. If you open the door and feel around the edge of the freezer compartment, you will feel the warmth.

My freezer door wont open, feels locked on one side. water is leaking underneath

Just answered a similar question about this but with the water leaking in this one, I think the door got wedged open slightly and you now have an excessive ice buildup on the inside of the freezer causing the door to stick from the ice buildup. You may need to pull hard to break loose the ice and when you get the door open clean all excessive ice from around the door seal area. Packages inside may need to be re- arranged so door closed properly.

Hi, got a fridge freezer, the freezer door is not closing -please help

check if noting broke in the door locking mechanic. Or check if not too much ice is pressing the door open.
But if you don't hear the click, check the lock.

I have an Estate refrigerator by whirlpool Corporation, model # TT18DKXRQ01 with a 12-07 mfg. date. When you open the refrigerator door, as it closes, the freezer door always opens and closes. Apparently...

I also own a model # TT18DKXRQ01 Estate refrigerator and my freezer door pops open when I close the refrigerator. As you stated, this is caused by the magnet in the freezer gasket not being strong enough to hold. As far as I know, they do not make a stronger freezer gasket but even if they did, it would probably be too costly considering that a standard gasket replacement costs $80.

My solution was to install an adhesive child safety lock on the top of the freezer near the door handle. I purchased the 'Safety 1st Lock Release Fridge Latch' model # HS038 from my local Walmart store for around $5.

You may find this solution to be slightly inconvenient at first but you will get used to it. It sure beats losing food because the freezer door was accidently popped open.

Freezer door won't stay shut

I have the exact same problem - very annoying. The only thing I found to work was to purchase one of those child safety locks. I bought the Kidco Appliance Fridge Lock S330 because it was the only one I could find that automatically relocks after you shut the door. Buy two (or more) at a time because the arm will eventually wear out and break (after several months depending on how often you use it). You can check out the product's details on eBay - that's where I purchased mine. Hope that helps.

Frost inside freezer door

there is a small electric heater along the door gasket where you see the frost building up, this heater has apparently stopped working. this will also cause the door to pop open due to a poor seal. feel around where the door gasket contacts the refrigerator and it should feel a little warm. if not then a service company can replace those heaters. should not be too expensive.

Freezer door won't open

There is no lock. More than likely the Door is off track and needs to be reset or ice has set up in the track ceaseing the rails up. In any case this isn't easy you need to get your bottommount freezer door pulled open you may have to use some force and be very careful not to brake it there is alot of plastic. Once you get the door completely out of freezer unclip the rails from the plastice rails and reset the two gears (evenly) to make door shut right. Push metal rails all the way back to you hear a click. Then reverse steps to install freezer door.
