When I text my friend i get the same message that I sent to him and it says from me. EG - hi how r u? - sent to Darren then i get a text from David myself saying how r u?. why does this happen!???

Did you ever find a solution to this problem? The exact same thing happened to my friend two days ago. Someone sent them the same message repeatedly, and he can no longer receive any messages, other than multimedia.
I have the same thing. But I can still REPLY to a text message I've gotten. Keep a friend's old text message on your phone at all times and just select it and reply to the message and there you go. It still costs you money though.
Go into a new text message and hit the "send to" option.Scroll down to the first name above the line and hit the "options" button.Scroll down and select "Recent messages" and choose whoever from that list that you'd like to be your top 3.I actually just sent all three of mine a blank text, but when I went back to the "send to" list voila!MORE INFO:I tried all kinds of things to remove names from my top three recipients list.What ended up working was to send a text to multiple recipients at once.Two was enough. But it was important who I selected first. I sent a message to my wife and my friend.My wife's name got added back to my top three! Then I reversed and sent a message to my friend and to my wife. I had the same problem with my new Blackjack 2, I could receive txts, but my friends would not receive the ones I sent. To fix it, I put a + in front of the number. and added the 1 before the area code. so their numbers looked like this +1(areacode)number. now they get them. Others had to do a hard reset of their Blackjacks, but it worked.
Its a network issue you need to go into your local dealer and show him (or her) what it is doing and take a freind with you so you can text them to show the person. You could also try texting yourself and if you get the text then you should check the nuber is right in your phone.
