Conair steamer GS4 reconnecting wire on switch relay

Safety First: Before attempting any repairs, ensure the steamer is unplugged from the electrical outlet to prevent electric shock.

Access the Switch Relay Area:
Remove the water tank from the steamer.
Open the casing or access panel where the switch relay is located. This may involve removing screws or clips.
Inspect the Wires:
Look for any loose or disconnected wires near the switch relay.
If you find a wire that has come off, identify its original position.
Reconnect the Wire:
Strip a small portion of the wire insulation if needed.
Reattach the wire to the appropriate terminal on the switch relay.
Ensure it is securely fastened.
Test the Steamer:
Reassemble the casing or access panel.
Plug in the steamer and turn it on.
Check if the switch relay works properly.
Secure the Casing:
Once everything is in place, secure the casing back onto the steamer.

Remember to exercise caution while handling electrical components. If you're unsure or uncomfortable with the repair, consider seeking professional assistance or contacting Conair's customer service for guidance. CONAIR GS4 SERIES INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE Pdf Download ' ManualsLib

How can I get my steamer to work again? Orange light comes on but nothing else

Make sure you didn't knock off a wire to the heating element when you had it open. Also put a couple of cups of whitevinnegar in it and leave it for an hour or two. This will dissolve the scale build up. If it doesn't get hot thenthe element is probably burned out. There is a limit switch held against the tank too. It can stop the heating element if it goes bad.

How do i open d rowenta garment steamer to change the fuse or burnt wires

There are four screws (Phillips) but you need long thin screw driver to remove them. Then there are TWO screws underneath the Castors. Just pop the Castors and turn them and you will see the screws. BTW there are two fuses inside. One you can replace and the other one is soldered in and you need to be little skilled to replace it. Chances are if the first one blew the second one should be OK. Good luck.

Turning hose one quarter turn does not unlock. Therefore, cannot refill unit.

I've had my steamer for years, so not sure if the models have changed. However, it helps to know where the notches are.
  • Place the steamer with the red on-off switch closest you and the hose/refill cap facing forward.
  • The small notch is kind of between 7 and 8 o'clock (center of notch is about 1/2 inch to the right from the center of the black arrow marked above the "turn to release" on my steamer)
  • The big notch is kind of between 1 and 2 o'clock.
  • The notches on my hose are at the seams. Small notch is underneath the hose, large notch faces forward.
  • Line the front seam of the refill cap/hose between 1-2 o'clock. I pried with a flat head screw driver.
  • After I got mine off I marked the notches, but will still probably store it detached to avoid this in the future! Good luck!

PS-200 Iron with Auto Shut-off: Can you really fix problems with a steamer? Is ...

The thermostat is the problem, I used aew3656's solution posted elsewhere in FixYa, and took care of the same problem on my steamer, just take out the damaged thermostat and use it as a sample to get a new one from any electronics supply store, BTW don't forget to buy thermal grease, it helps dissipate the heat so your steamer won't overheat, and the thermostat wont't go off every 2mins.

Rowenta Iron-Professional Luxe The power cord seems to short out when you move iron. You can wiggle it next to the movable ball and it clicks on and off. The two screw heads on bottom appear to be special...

I drilled out the nubs in the center of the screws. removed the screws, and took off the back plate. The problem is that the cord seems to be abraiding when it swivels, and eventually wears thru. It seems like a fire hazard and should be looked into by Rowena. Anyway, I cut out the damaged cord and reattached it. Problem fixed..
