The shaft on the DP350 and DP250 are a little bit of a weird size and just sizing up a replacement doesn't work - plus a standard pulley will eliminate the variable speeds as a reeves pulley is needed. Leneave Supply (leneave.com) has the best replacement at this time. My pulley just fragmented and found that people are havng a hard time finding a replacement. try a fitter and turner /machine shop. they can machine one for you as 4 the cost hmmm is your machine worth it . there are generic pulleys available they need machining to your required shaft size
regards pete
if its a press fit on the motor spindle the parts need to be the same specs ...accurately measure the diameter of the motor spindle.. pulleys are usually machined to match motor spindle ,, if your pulley has a bush it may have been reduced from its bigger size and i may not have enough info so i may be wrong.. pete
I had the same problem and searched extensively for a replacement
pulley, but couldn't find one. I thought I'd try something else and
began looking at Love Joy variable speed pulleys. They function the same
way and are much heavier duty that the cast pewter used by Delta. The
one problem, they are EXTREMELY expensive. Tried ebay and found a number
of different brands and sizes. I recently found and purchased a Reeves
variable speed pulley 850C 5/8" bore & 5" OD off of Ebay for just
under $30. Well, the motor shaft is just under 5/8" but larger than
9/16" so I was going to use a metal 1/2" ID x 5/8" OD spacer as a shim
and file the inside down to the motor shaft diameter, which would
definitely work. Fortunately I had an old 1/2 HP motor from an old
drillpress and it had a 5/8" shaft. Dropped the Reeves pully right on
and mounted it on the DP350 and it ran like a charm. It's a little off
of alignment and I had to cut a hole in the top cover for the Reeves
pulley to protrude out an inch or so, but other than that it works
great. My only fear is that the front pulley might explode now. Guess
I'll have to wait and see. I'll bet there'll be a lot of searchers for a
5" OD variable speed pulley on ebay! Hope yours works as well as mine!
There is supposed to be a snap-ring with covering a cap with a spring that compresses the pulley and holds it together. Maybe one of those pieces has broken or is worn out. Most online repair parts places have an exploded diagram of all the parts and where they go so you can identify a replacement.
If you still have the old belt, take it to a well equipped hardware or auto parts store for a replacement. If the previous belt is missing, you will need to measure the pulley 'V' width at the top of the 'V', the center to center measurement of the two shafts, and the outer diameters of the two pulleys. Hope this helps!
can you describe the part, the other part number you furnished are superseded with replacement parts and I can't find this one listed, let me know and I will try and help
I went to the website www.deltaenterprise.com. You will have to have the country of origin, model number and the date of manufacturer or you can not get the parts. The phone number is 800-816-5304. I do not have fast you will get the parts. I called and did not have the country of origin so I will have to wait.
