you might have you coil set to close to the flywheel and the coil is not letting the flywheel spin like it is suposto sotheir for you string id to tin\ght when you hace the hood on so reagap the coil and sett it a little farther back from the flywheel by not to far back
Take the cover off the top of the motor witch I think it is like 5 or 6 10 mm bolts take them out and u should have pull starter in that. So wind the the spring till its pretty tight and the cord u should have already put the handle on feed the other end of the rope thru the wound tight spring and put it thru the hole on the plastic piece in the center that u wound up and tie a double knot and then slowly let it wind it back in. if it stops before all the string goes in there is either to much string or u didnt wind it enough before u put the string in it. It should take like three foot of rope if the handle is at the motor but if the handgrip is up the handle u will need like 9 feet of rope
Take pull string housing off. Looks like 3 or 4 screws. Should be able to restring from under side. Either buy new string or if old string is long enough, just tie knot on the end. Good luck
This is best done with two people. Remove cover, place down so you are viewing the rope pulley. Remove all old rope. Measure 8 foot of new rope. line up pulley rope hole with rope opening in cover. Wind rope pulley 6 turns. Push new rope thru both rope openings, one in pulley and one in cover. Pull rope thru pulley and cover. Tie knot in pulley end of rope, Slowely release rope so it rewinds onto pulley. Install hope handle, your done. was'nt that easy? You will have extra rope, this is needed to go from engine to handle support on your mower handle.
The operator presence bail must be in the run position to release the flywheel brake. If you can't pull the rope with the bail in the run position, your rope is fouled. You will have to remove the shroud and take it to a repair shop.
Remove cowling to acces pull start assembly. Have new cord on hand. Remove old cord fragments. Wind rotor 4-5 revolutions to tension spring and hold while threading new cord into slot. Knot new cord and slowly let it wind back into assembly.
The pull cord assembly either has something jammed in there or it's busted. Take the 3 or 4 bolts out that hold in on to the top, and inspect it for damage. If there's nothing in there or it's not damaged it might have just slipped off the spring. Rewind your cord and reinstall it.
