I have just put a load into my miele T220, the dryer ran for less than 30 seconds before beeping (indicating drying complete) i have done this several times with the same result. any ideas?

If the aire being expelled is humid then this suggests that the unit if working fine. if clothes are still damp then maybe give them a second spin before putting in the drier, or dry them for longer. Also try putting less in the drier and drying in two loads.
In all likelihood the belt that turns the drum is frayed. and may need replacing. It would be a good idea to unplug it and take a good look at the belt before it comes completely off, this way there won't be any confusion about how the new one goes on.The only moving parts when it is in operation is, the drum, belt and a very small wheel on which the belt travels.
ck to see if a wrinkle guard button is present or some such control if option is turned on most dryers will come on shut off like that for up to 12 hrs before completely shutting off this helps reduce wrinkles in clothes not removed from dryer when dry cycle completes ..if you can find owners manual consult if for a better explantion
