I got a 95 Polaris sportsman 400 4x4 i bought a new battery i did everything i had to before putting it in the quad i went riding for a couple hours and on the way home the lights would go dim when i let off the gas then get brighter when i give it gas then they just keep getting dimmer and the quad just dies on me no power what so ever

have an 06 polaris sportsman 500 x2, when i turn the key nothing happens. battery is good and charged, i have another quad, same exact one, and i have swapped out every part i could to find out what is wrong with it, still doesnt work.

My 2005 700 efi is doing the same thing. So far I have found that the engine and exhaust get so hot that the fuel starts to boil and causes the fuel pump to vapor lock. I taped up the tank with some reflective tape/insulator stuff and now I'm trying to figure out why its running so hot.(The exhaust manifold glows red hot) I've cleaned the radiator and flushed the system. I just need to check the water pump and thermostat. Any other suggestions?

I hope you got this problem fixed, just happened to my predator, it was indeed the voltage regulator. I picked up a service manual that includes part numbers and installation procedures from www.promanuals.net for 15 bucks.

you probly need a new heat sensor, its located on the bottom right of your rad, i had the same problem with my 700 the fan only worked when it was already over heating, i cut the wires flush at the sensor drilled a hole above the key switch and mounted a toggle switch, no more over heating,
