I have a whirlpool gold mod# GI6SARXXF04 tried to reset by holding the 2 buttons on front control panel. the fridge came back on for a few minutes, then went back off. Is there something else I could try?

From what I have read the control board has failed.

sounds like your defrost drain is clogged up. it can be cleaned by taking off the metal or plastic panel and cleaning out the defrost drain hole. a steamer works best.

Have you tried unplugging and plugging the fridge back in? This may reset the control baoard.

This blank display is a common control board problem. If the buttons beep when pressed, then the control board is getting adequate power. If the buttons beep.. and your oven light still turns on when the oven door is open.. this a text book control board failure. only 2 things can cause this.
1 the control is set to lock out mode. just hold the lock button for 5 seconds and it should go back to normal mode.
or 2 the controls user interface has an internal failure. its the part that has the switches and tells the computer what to do. either way call whirlpool and see if its still covered by their warranty.
of yeah and the 3rd thing is you have no power to unit. make sure the outlet is good by trying something else in the same outlet, like a light or hairdryer.

Unplug it for 40 minutes to reset.
