I pulled out the Lamp, cleared the dust inside with one of those air blowers and returned the Lamp. That seems to have fixed the picture problems I was having.

Replace bulb

There are two possibilities. A burst out capacitor can make a loud pop sound. The second one is with bulb. Check both of these. Visit the site named 'Electro-help' for more details. Click this link. View it in 'Flip card' option, which can be selected from the drop down box menu by the [Sidebar] tag, at the top left corner of the display window. It will make search easy. There are more than 975 posts to different brand TVs now.

I have Samsung DLP TV 50 inch HL-P5063W

First thing to look at is the color wheel this model uses--usually it will make a high pitched fan like sound but can make a grinding sound also.

If it slows down from the 12,000 or so RPM speed it will cause color issues.

HAVE GRINDING OR HIGH PITCHED SOUND?

No picture, siren type noise as restarting

My Toshiba dlp 62hm116 was used for 3 months then stored for 2 years, I turned it on yesterday and it makes a loud grinding noise which I think is probably from the exhaust fan area and the picture is black except white at both vertical sides. It worked fine the last time I used it 2 years ago. Any ideas?

When I turn off my Samsung DLP it makes a pop and a sound like ''Glass breaking'' about 1 to 2 seconds after the picture and sound has stopped.

Hi,it sounds like its the lamp, when it goes out lamp will pop and you'll hear glass inside of it.Make sure you get the original Philips lamp. Also check the color wheel here;s how to take it out: http://guides.fixyourdlp.com/samsung/bp96-01579a.php It might be that color wheel is broken and that's why you hear glass breaking because it might still spin broken.God bless you!

Tv went pop

All you can do is get it repaired or replace. Take the receipt (if you still have it) to the retailer you bought it from and ask about it. Alternative, phone Samsung (number is probably in the instruction manual that came with the TV, or look on their website) and ask if they can do anything about it.

Black screen with a Blinking lamp in the front

Hi..if your lamp is on but no picture, then your lamp is good. Your problem is the DMD board (digital mirror display board) is bad. This is very common with Samsung DLP.

Loud cracking sound, and now, nothing

Hopefully its only the lamp. Inspect lamp for breakage. Lamp power supply ok??. Check any air vents (filters if any) before replacing. Lamp life is only a few thousand hours, easy to do in a year, 5-6hrs a day. Check your manual.
