It maybe the pressure switch. If you can get to it give it a tap with a screw driver and see if that helps.
Thanks. Where would I find that switch?
The switch on most machines is at the top of the machine, the furthest away from the water.
Add a Comment If your machine doesn't have a separate switch for water fill then follow the clear plastic tube up to the top of the washer and see if it goes onto the ircuit boarb, if it does then I guess you can't tap it but, check for loose or a rubbed spot on the hose that would let air or water out.
That's, on to the Circuit board.

Here is what husband told me. The water will fill. No agitation. No spin. When he manually turns the dial through each cycle nothing. But it will drain the water out. I showed him the answers and told him maybe the additional info could narrow things down. Also does anyone know where we can find a schematic for our machine online? Can't seem to find one. Thank you so much for all of your help everyone!
The fill switch is usually at the top of the washer (highest part of washer) Like where the cycle knob is. The switch is about 3 inches round and it will have a hose attached to it that goes down under the drum. Make sure the hose is on tight at the switch and at the drum if you can get to it. You could pull the hose off at the switch and suck on it and see if air leaks in to the hose, make sure the hose has no wear spots or kinks. I am not sure what kind of switch your washer has but it will be that round one or one where the hose goes on to a circuit board. You will have to pull the hose off the board to suck or blow in the hose. Please unplug the washer while looking for the hose and while sucking on the hose.also be careful when pulling the hose off the circuit board (pull and twist). If you had a piece of hose that would go on the switch you could blow in to the hose and the other end could be on the switch and if you hold the air in the hose under pressure you could see if the washer would start to run. If the switch is okay then I would look at the cycle switch or circuit board. PS. if the washer stops filling then the switch might be working as the water does stop but, not always. If you had an Ohm meter you could check the switch with the washer unplugged. Good Luck

Dtronics,
A part called a (wig-wag) its a part that consists of two selonoids, one is bad. It switches the transmission from the wash cycle to the spin cycle,at the same time it opens the pump for draining.
hope this is helpful

I have a Maytag that had that problem. Mine has a plastic tube inside of the machine that connects to a sensor. As the water level rises, some of it goes into this tube creating air pressure on a sensor that signals the machine that the water is at the selected level. The bottom of the tube had come loose and just needed to be put back onto the fitting. I accessed this tube by lifting the top of the machine, and it is in the back. Very easy to get at. I hope this works for you.

This is the second time I have had to replace the drum/support shaft on this washer. Not only is it expensive, but very difficult to replace. Probably the very worst washer on the market for this reason. And I only do 3-4 light loads of laundry per week. A definate design flaw on the part of the manufacturer.

That is not the solution.
Start the machine and immediatly press the "Start" and "Pause/cancel" button at the same time. Then you will get and ERROR code. Look on the cheat sheet packed with the machine to find out what is really wrong. That will give you the real answer.
