Re: I'm not asking about a leaf blower It's a toro...
You have to disassemble the entire front of the snow blower. This means removing the snow shroud, auger bits and then getting to the impeller blades. I did it once and it took me about 1 1/2 hrs to complete.
Thans for the info. I removed the impeller blades one at a time and installed the new blade before removing the next old blade. I did this until I had replaced all 3 blades. You have to remove 6 bolts per blade It took about 1 to 11/2 hoursThans for the info. I removed the impeller blades one at a time and installed the new blade before removing the next old blade. Probably but the problem will be when vacuuming
plastic impellers absorb shock from stones and other hard objects, where as metal blades will break off causing an imbalance of the impeller
Remove the bottom of the blower or vac and see if any blades are broken on the plastic fan blade, known as an impeller. If a blade is sheared off, this could be the source of your noise and shaking. This part will need to be replaced. I've just ordered one and will be replacing mine when it comes in.
The impeller for your Toro blower is part #98-3150 and is available from www.partstree.com for about $20 plus shipping. To avoid shipping charges, find your local Toro dealer. Go to www.toro.com to find your nearest dealer.
An exploded parts view is also provided on partstree.com's website. This should make it easier to see what has to come apart for the impeller to be replaced.
Good luck!
google for sources. In the 80's i was employed by a co that probuced brushes according to specs. We received them in bags, or envelopes, etc. If you cannot find them through the orig. mfgr., send the remaining brush or the holder, with as much of the brush as is remaining for proper dim. estimate and brush composition. some brushes have the composition of dry charcoal. while some such as "EGO" can substitute for a very soft pencil.
Sounds like a piece of wood is caught under/between the impellor and the case/housing. When removing the impellor, you may find it has a left hand threaded nut.
