Yes
its in error mode
its trying to get back to where the error was last
drain the machine from the filter
power off the mains
hold in the power on button
and turn on the mains
it will reset
the machine does a simple self check when it turns on
so a faulty pump will cause this
usually its a faulty pump housing is leaking water
or blocked up
so the pump cant move
when you turn it on it spins the pump motor a few turns and detects its running
so you may need to remove the filter round cover screw
and its tray
and check the pump viens move
may be some hair clip or clothes wires stuck in it or a coin etc
it should go to then where it left off
i would at this point stop it with the button
move the selector to drain
and let it drain and end
or to short spin
if it spins aok and ends
then you can just go for it with a load
if it fails to short spin and drain something else is wrong
prob electronic
SOURCE: Hotpoint aquarius WMF740 (1 year old) - noisey spin
its the drum bearings there worn out try opening the door and lifting the top of the drum with your fingers if there is any life and the drum drops back when you let it go its them bearings,, then spin the drum by hand is should grumble or growl,,,if it dont do any of this, it could be the "spider" broken off, its an ally part that holds the drum bearings and the drum up,

Something wrong the pump would prevent the machine draining and generate an F5 code.
