Sounds like you might of left one of the doors open, which has frosted up your diffuser. Make sure doors are closing well. I would have to know where exactly the ice and leak is to give you a better answer. You can try turning off refrigerator and open doors for 8-10 hours and let it manual defrost. Turn back on and see if it reappears

Any drain plug will cause that effect. If the drain below the evaporator in the freezer is plugged, the defrost heater will cause that water to evaporate and collect around where the vent to the refrigerator is. If the drain below the bottom pans in the refrigerator section gets plugged, it makes all the air in the refrigerator section get super humid and it'll turn that directly to ice accumulation when the frigid air from the freezer blows in.

Like Vic says we would need a model number and make to locate the pan if its an older model just try a blow dryer to evaporator coils which are the thin lines your dp should be on the left or right by compressor so the opposite of that compressor is where u would find it

Your refrigerator has a defrost drain blockage behind the evaporator in your your freezer compartment. Some models like yours have leak in the turns as the water leaves the freezer. I recommend that you unplug and remove the cover to the evaporator and check the defrost condensate tray below the evaporator. A wet vacuum cleaner and poring a solution with clorox in the drain will help you clean locate the leak and where the blockage may be downline.. I do have the manual on yours and can help you solve this. Some times this is a factory defect and I can help you solve the freezing drain problem. Let me know, Sea Breeze

the defroster isn't close enough to the drain to be effective. remove the back wall of the inside of the freezer, remove the excess ice. clear out the ice from the drain using hot water and a turkey baster. there is a kit from whirlpool that uses a piece of metal and a screw around the defrost rod, but I found out that a piece of 14 gauge solid core wire with the insulation stripped off works great too. stick the stripped wire into the drain, 2 to 3 inches, and wrap the rest around the defrost rod.

Why is my ge refriderator "frost-free" freezer frosting up?

most likely the defrost heater behind the panel thats frosted up is burned out so it cant defrost the unit,g.e. is notorious for this, remove this panel inside the freezer and remove 2 screws at the bottom of the evaporator coil holding the heater to the evaporator and unplug it the new part number is g.e. Continual water dripping into fridge from freezer.ice forming in fridge where dripping occurs.what could this be?

your drain from inside the freezer is clogged. every time the fridge goes on defrost, there is no where for the water to go, so it goes into fresh food section thru the air duct.
Empty out the freezer, remove back panel. you should now see the evaporator. Directly below the evaporator will me a thin metal sheet with a hole in the middle. Remove metal sheet. You may have to use a screw driver and break up some of the ice so you can remove it. After removing, you should now see a small hole. Thats the drain hole. You can boil some water to pour into the hole, so you can met the ice and hopefully remove whatever is clogging it. You can even take a wire hanger and insert it in the hole to free up the drain.
Hopefully this solves your problem.

There seems to be water accumulating on the top shelf of our fridge. items on the top shelf get wet and the water also ends up dripping on the floor after awhile. we have not got the ice maker hooked up

YOUR DEFROST DRAIN IS EITHER CLOGGED WITH ICE OR GUNK, YOU CAN UNPLUG AND DEFROST, THE ICE THIS TAKES SOME TIME. AS THE OPENING FOR THE DRAIN IS IN THE CENTER BACK BELOW THE EVAPORATOR. AND THE ICE MAY BE FROZEN FOR 5-6 INCHES INSIDE DRAIN. YOU WILL SEE WATER DRAINING INTO THE PAN ON TOP OF COMPRESSOR WHEN AND IF DRAIN IS CLEAR. IF NOT ICE THEN TRACE DRAIN FOR BLOCKAGE. SOME FRIGS HAVE A SMALL PIECE OF PLASTIC AT BACK OF FRIG THAT PULLS OUT AND HAS VERTICAL SLOTS TO KEEP OUT DEBRIS, THAT WOULD BE WHERE GUNK WOULD BE.

Fridge is dripping directly onto top shelf. It is

Hello, this sounds like you have a blockage in the drain tube, remove panel back/bottom of freezer..you may see ice build up...melt ice with hair dryer/heat gun...you will see a pan below evaporator...melt ice in pan...dry water up in pan with paper towel...now you should see a hole in pan that leads to drain tube...pour some hot water in pan..wait a couple minutes..mop up water and repeat this step 2-3 times....once you have done this find some flexible curtain wire or electrical wire..poke down the hole until you see the water drain..now it is clear..put back panel back and you are good to go. The reason you see water in the fridge is because the water has been leaking into the freezer and down the vent into the fridge instead of running into the drain hole...Please feel free to comment again if you have any other question. Replacing Defrost Heater and Bracket in Freezer Section of Fridge

I ended up having to remove things in this order: all shelves, ice maker insert, ice maker top ice tray, ice maker lower motor housing, shelving support rails (2), rear evaporator coil cover. This exposed the evaporator coils (which were already dry since the fridge had been off for two days) and most importantly, the defrost heater element below the coils. The heater element was easily unplugged from it's two connectors. I tested the unit with an ohm meter and it indicated it was open (infinity resistance). I then knew it was bad. I replaced it with a new unit and put everything back together in reverse order taking care to use the same screws. The fridge appears to be back in working order.

Water accumuluation under the fridge

at the back there should be a drip tray if this is full it will leak onto the floor it could be this, it could also be the drain in the fridge is blocked on the back there should be a self made into the back with a hole in it this is to go to the vapure, the part i was on about before, the tank is on top of the pump and its hot so turns the water in to vapour, usually there is not a lot of water but if the pipe becomes blocked it stores the water in the pipe and then lets it go in one full step over flowing the container. to clean the pipe out you can use a flex line or a net curtain rod, push it down and up the hole a few times the blockage will fool to the bottom or come out on the flex.
