when at the stop lights , you will have your foot on the brake as it will still be in drive or in gear and you don't want the car to move
a simple test is to apply the hand brake to stop the car and don't touch the foot brake
if it idles ok but cuts out when you apply the foot brake , replace the brake booster as it has a vacuum leak that is causing the problem
you can do this test in the garage by starting in neutral and allowing the engine to idle , then apply the foot brake
iof it dies it is the booster
hi,if the brake getting hot that means it not releasing fully, beware if you continue to use the scooter you may damage it further as you stressing the motor and controller unit...
I offer a free testing service and i'm able to fix a majority of brakes for low cost..
so what's happening here ?
Okay a voltage is applied to the brake allowing the motor to spin, the brake releases by powering a magnetic coil this in turn pulls the fiction plates away allowing the motor to spin...
Could be a bad vacuum booster. Disconnect it and plug the hose, and take it for a short test drive with no power brakes, and see if the problem still occurs.
Common problem - normally caused by low battery voltage. Disconnect battery for 10 mins
(MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR RADIO CODE)
reconnect battery - then follow instructions on dashboard to reset park/brake. Use this method for all p/brake faults as 95% of the time it resets them.
Hope this helps - good luck.
It may be that your power assist booster behind the brake master is leaking and when you apply the brakes it robs all your vacuum. Try plugging the hose that goes to the power assist boost and apply the brakes. If the engine stayhs steady thats your problem!
