Are you running the windows 8.1 updates? When you plug in the tasco it should search and find the driver!
It doesn't for this Microscope.

sometimes when a battery causes corrosion inside something, you can clean off the springs or contacts where the battery goes. if i can, when that stuff happens i use sandpaper or something like that to clean the contacts. you cant always get sandpaper where you need it though. just try to find something to like scrape stuff off if its on there

The software for National Optical DC2 is provide by Motic. According to motic's website "images plus" is not yet available for Window 7 based operating systems: http://www.motic.com/ProductDetail.aspx?r=NA&lang=en&cid=145&pid=48. However Motic does mention that there are some of their camera's that are compadiable with windows Vista and 7.
