How do I set the password for my router

Theencryption key secures your data from unauthorized access. The router's password is a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA orWPA2 encryption key. The Passphrase generates the WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryptionkey and this is in the router's wireless settings. To connect to your wireless router, configure the router'swireless settings ie SSID, plus the WPAor WPA2 encryption key and then configure wireless cards in the laptops and orcomputers with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktopcomputers can communicate with your wireless router.

Open a Browser then type 192.168.0.1 or http://routerlogin.net. The Default username is admin and the password is password. Password is case sensitive.

Go to the Wireless Tab select Wireless Security you can set a security either WEP, WPA, or WPA2 and under the Security Mode you will see there Network Key (Wep/Wpa Key) or Passphrase. The Network Key serves as a password or security code on your network to make it secure. Network Key is case sensitive.

If these dont work you will want to reset the router back to defaults.

I'm not sure if you're reffering to the password of the router or the password of the network or Network Key. You don't need to worry listed below are all the sters on how to obtain both password.

You can also reset the router to its factory state but you need to keep in mind that all settings will be back to its default settings. To reset the router press and hold the small reset button at the back of the router using a Pen or a Paper Clip for 15-30 seconds.

Use a computer that is working with the router, wired or wireless.. Then login to http://192.168.1.1 or http://routerlogin.net

enter admin for username and password for password. Once logged in, click Wireles settings on the left panel.
You will see Security option, this should show WEP if the router is really using WEP, then you will see key 1,2,3,4 boxes underneath, whichever is selected and has the series of characters, that series of characters is youe WEP key. Make sure not change any settings as it will affect other wireless devices currently connected.

Is there any computer online using the router.
If not then you will need to connect the computer to the router.
If yes then you can open the router set up page on that computer.
router set up page is the page where you can check all the router settings.

log onto the router and under the wireless security tabs change your password to a new one and you should be able to use the wifi after that with the new password , also you will have to reconnect any pcs that use the wifi to the router using the new password

Log into your Router go to Wireless Settings somewere in this fiedl you will see document.write(sec_key) Security Encryption (WEP) Key document.write(ba) . Type the password you want in Key 1.Click save settings your done. Now when someone trys to ocnnect to your Wirless net work they need this password. If you want to Change the password to log into your router you need to go to Admin settings on your router THATS IF YOU HAVE THAT OPTION TO. Most routers logins stay what they call factory settings..

acoording to the manual of a simlar router,

you need to set the SSID to name the network

then create a Pre-Shared Key, now insert the cd on the machine you wish to connect to this network , if you have no CD give me the model number of the Wireless stick then hopefully we can get a driver, if you insert the hardware it may not pick a driver or it may pick a driver that will not work correctly so disconnect the wireless stick, install the driver then when prompted insert the stick , the driver will be on the CD otherwise give me the model number or goto google and search on that model

This is the password to your wireless network.
