Batteries

Check if there's IR being emitted. Use your phone's cam to look at the IR emitter while pressing buttons on the remote

Anything more than these basics requires skills in electronics. If you had the skills then you wouldn't need to ask the question here. So buy a replacement remote instead.

I am sure that you got this resolved already. But here are some steps to walk through if you haven't gotten it resolved, or have problems again in the future. I enclosed a link, where you can walk through simple steps to get the remote working for the receiver box. You do want to make sure that you are in front of the receiver box for this process. Also, if you have not changed the batteries in 60 days, go ahead and change those out too if possible.

They also sell replacement remotes.

Zoom in on the picture of the original remote provided on the site (or look at your own) and get the actual remote model number.

or check eBay: search for "(model of the device or the remote) remote", check the 'include description' box. Usually cheaper than the vendors.

This is because the remote may got resetted which have been programmed with the cable box.
So please reprogramme the remote with the cable box.It will work.

I have found whenever my Harmony Remote stops controlling my devices, a firmware update will usually fix the problem!!! If you dont know how to do one, just look at the link below:

Remote control takes a while to start working. After turning tv on, the screen only has hdmi on it and takes a while to warm up before picture and sound comes on. Then have to wait again to change channel...
