Need a little more information..is it is doing nothing Check the battery if ok it may be your starter solenoid try this turn your key to on and using a jumper wire or screwdriver and connect ( cross the two large connectors on the selonoid ) it should turn the engine over. If you hear clicking but not turning over It most likely a bad starter. If the starter clicks and spins but not turning engine..it is the gear on the end of the starter it most likely stripped as many are plastic....need to remove the starter and check it..is ok try doing a bench test..just use any 12 volt supply..attach the hot wire ( +) to the connector on the starter and attach the neg ( ground ) to the starter body..it should click, push the gear upward and spin..if not NEW STARTER...hope this helps..if not let me know what you found......one more thing if nothing at all may be one of the safey switches. Good luc

The PTO usually has a clutch that has to be engaged so that you can select the PTO rotation setting. I had a problem like that on my tractor and all it needed was a little adjustment on the PTO clutch lever, so it could disengage the PTO gearbox properly.

percussive maintenance my friend. Try banging on the solenoid and starter with a hammer while in the start position. Also, if you have a voltmeter, you can see where voltage is getting to and that will help you as well.

The electro-magnetic coil side of your PTO is shorted out.On the 318 it is very easy to replace, just under front screen.

One of two possible causes;either the PTO switch is defective or the switch for the reverse peddle is out of adjustment .The only other thing i have seen cause the PTO to shut down is a lack of battery power due to the machine not charging.
