Http://www.bealsmotor.com/manuals/113282-01.pdf You could have an air problem. Take the cover off the heater and see if it runs ok, if it does then you have an air problem, check for bad lines or cracked housings

SOURCE: Heater runs for 20 minutes then shuts off

These heaters have built in thermostats. Sometimes they are adjustable sometimes they are not, check to see if your is adjustable and see if this fixes your problem. Also check to see if there is any air restrictions possibly causing the heater to over heat.

The first thing to check would be the fuel filter from the tank to the nozzle.

Then check the input and output filters on the back of the pump housing.

Here is a link to a service manual.

First thing is to download the service manual.

http://www.desaparts.com/service_manuals.html

You need to make sure the filters are clean and that you are getting the proper air pump pressure.

If the units starts up and runs good and slowly goes out it will normally be due to a lack of fuel getting to the nozzle. When there is not enough fuel being delivered to the nozzle from either a clogged fuel filter of dirty air pump output filter the unit will slowly shut down from lack of fuel.

If the unit shuts down while it is running properly and the nose come is orange then you probably have a problem with a photocell or the flame out control.

If you have other questions you can contact our service department at 269-685-4125 at extension 224

Thanks

How will you know if your engine is no good?

Have you heard any knocking coming from the motor? Do you have oil in your radiator fluid or water in your oil? Does a big cloud of blue smoke appear when the car is started? Is the timing belt or chain still intact?

My mastercraft riding mower runs for about 5 minutes and dies then a big cloud of white smoke comes out

Hello Alan. I'm George. Do a compression check on the engine. You didn't mention the type of engine but it should have around 90 PSI or more. If it doesn't, you most likely have a blown head gasket.
Good Luck and Thanks. George

Was using my toro lawn mower when big clouds of white smoke started to come out of it. I put oil in the oil tank and it started to pour out the air filter. How is that? Now it won't start at all.

You have big problems my friend! You have blown a head gasket, or broke the rings around the piston. The gasket isn't as bad as the rings. But neither is a good sign. It may be time to get a new mower; sorry for the bad news..... :-(

My '95 mighty max with 110,000 miles just had new cap and rotor, spark plugs and wires, and PCV valve. New battery timing belt "A" and "B". Timed to 7.5 deg with the timing...

If it is doing this only when you rev the engine after it has been idling a while, it is probably smoke from burning oil. A new set of valve stem seals will probably work wonders in reducing the smoke. Stopping the oil consumption will not only help it to pass a smog test but will also help to keep from damaging your engine and your catalytic converters. 110,000 miles is just barely broke-in for a Mitsubishi engine. However, the seals are probably cracked and broken due to the AGE of the vehicle.

Blows cloud of smoke

thin your fuel mix with about a gallon of kerosene to 5 gallon of heating oil.could also be a semi clogged fuel line filter.
