I had the same problem. The ice maker started leaking water into the ice storage bin. I had to replace the ice maker. I did it myself and it's easy. I ordered one from Sears over the internet. Here's the link to the Sears ice maker:http://www.searspartsdirect.com/Kenmore-elite-Refrigerator-Parts/61005508/0046/464/Model-59676603600/0583/0161000.html
There are videos on installing the ice maker but all the ones I saw were for side-by-sides, which are a little different.

Instructions for bottom freezers: Use your refrigerator to store the frozen food because it will only take you about 30 minutes to replace the ice maker. Unplug the power. Lift the ice maker wire switch to shut it off. One step no one tells you about but makes the job much easier is to remove the freezer sliding door/drawer. First, remove the wire mesh storage tray in the freezer. Then with the draw door pulled out, lift it up slightly with the handle, which releases it from the rails, and slide it out of the rails. Now you got it made! Take this opportunity to clean the bottom of the freezer, which I'm certain will be the first and last time you ever get to do it. Carefully pull the front square plastic cover off the ice maker. When you pull on it, you will see it separate from the rest of the machine. It simply snaps off and on the maker. You may need it for you new machine. Mine did not come with one. Unplug the wiring harness from the top back of the freezer. There are two hex head screws that hold the ice make to the side of the freezer. Carefully unscrew them without dropping the screws into the machine. The ice maker is free to remove. If your new maker did not come with the wire switch, simple pull the old one out of each side the switch mechanism and slide it into the new one. Now reverse the above steps to install your new maker. It may take an hour or so for it to start operating, just be patient. You may want to just sleep on it:)

Likely the icemaker has gone bad. Replacing it should fix the problem. The water you hear could be the defrost cycle which does cause water to drip into the evaporation pan.

Check plastic tube that runs from rear of the freezer. See if it is pluged with ice. If you find it is change the fill valve at the back of freezer behind the compressor cover. It could be a double valve, as one part.

unplug it again , sounds like your drain line has frozen, instaead of defrost water going down the tube and under refrig in drain pan, becuse tube is frozen its draining into freezer compartment and eventually spilling out through front of unit. totally defrost unit and behind back wall of freezer youll see a metal trough designed to catch water, in the center (under the ice is gonna be the drain hole, pour boiling water down until it runs freely

The ice maker has a problem The ice maker is a separate appliance within the freezer section. Please see the How things Work section of our website to learn about the normal functioning of ice makers. Some common problems with ice makers are:

The ice maker has completely stopped producing ice
The ice maker is producing ice poorly
The ice maker has completely stopped producing ice Check to see whether the ice maker has been turned off. Here's how to check. Look for a wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If this wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. On some units you simply lower the wire to the down position to turn the ice maker on. On others, you lower a small red plastic lever to lower the wire. If the wire is in the proper position check the freezer temperature, it should be between 0-8 degrees Fahranheit. If it is warmer than 10-12 degrees, the ice maker may not produce any ice. Check your door seals and thermostat, repair/replace as necessary.

The ice maker is producing ice poorly When an ice maker is producing ice poorly--when it produces just a few cubes or none, or when the cubes are too small--it's usually because of a clogged water line or a defective water inlet valve.

First, check the water line attached to the back of the refrigerator for good water flow. To do that, first turn off the water supply valve. Then remove the water line from the back of the refrigerator. Next, place the water line into a bucket and momentarily turn the water valve back on to test the flow. If the flow is poor, you need to repair, clean, or replace the tubing or the shut-off valve that supplies the water. If the flow is good, you may have to replace the water inlet valve.

There's an ice- or water-dispensing problem The ice and water-dispensing system of your refrigerator is quite complex. Many components work together to provide the ice and water. Aside from a simple problem of a leaky water tube or a jammed ice chute, most other components are not user serviceable. We suggest that you contact a qualified appliance repair technician for such repairs.

Ice maker is not making ice and water leaks from bottom.

Your evaporator coils frost up in normal use and every eight hours or so the entire unit shuts down and the defrost heater comes on to melt the frost. This cycle last about 20 minutes. The melted frost drips into a drain pan and through a drain tube to the drain tray under the freezer/refrigerator where it's evaporated by the condenser fan.

Your drain tube may be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little pressure with a turkey baster will usually clear it out. Flushing it out with hot water and clorox may help.
Make sure it drains quick enough to prevent refreezing. . The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the lower back of the freezer.

Ice Maker
Is the freezer cold enough? Should be close to 10 degrees.
Is there water or ice in the ice mold? If not put water in it and see if it dumps the ice after it’s frozen. If there is ice, lift the cut off arm and let it drop to see if it will start.
If it does dump the ice but don’t refill with water.
Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

Water leaks into freezer bottom & floor

Hello, this sounds like you have a blockage in the drain tube, remove panel back of freezer..you may see ice build up...melt ice with hair dryer/heat gun...you will see a pan below evaporator...melt ice in pan...dry water up in pan with paper towel...now you should see a hole in pan that leads to drain tube...pour some hot water in pan..wait a couple minutes..mop up water and repeat this step 2-3 times....once you have done this find some flexible curatain wire or electrical wire..poke down the hole until you see the water drain..now it is clear..put back panel back and you are good to go. The reason you see water in the Freezer is because the water has been leaking into the freezer instead of running into the drain hole...If you need any further assistance please feel free to comment again. good luck! P.s Please don't forget to rate my solution thanks! Mike.

Because ice makers require a water supply to make ice.
