It means that most likely that your Defrost Heater (DH) is not working and one of the following items could be bad;
Er dH Sensor did not get over 40 F Faulty fuse, heater, control board Controller assembly, defrost heater, relay on control board Here is the whole list for your refrigerator;

Your manual should have a troubleshooting section. Er would mean an error, and the 2 would indicate the problem area.. You could also call the manufacturer at a number usually on the nameplate. You may also Google the manufactures name/Er2 and see what comes up. Good luck. Try to find out soon so the error doesn't increase with time.

Does it just show "er" or does it have "er" and two more characters? The "er" means there is some sort of problem, and the other two characters will indicate what kind of problem. If it's just showing "er" alone, I not sure what that means.

I think you mean a dh error code which is a defrost problem either your sensor or heater is bad

Hi, here are the error codes and meanings for your Refrigerator

Error Code, All Error Codes will have an ER on the left side, followed by the error on the right:
Er IF - Icemaker Fan Error - This can be caused by frostaccumulation on or around the icemaker fan. Unplug the unit for 3-4hours to allow this to melt off. If error code persists, call CustomerService.
Er FF - Freezer Fan Error - This can be caused by frost accumulationon or around the freezer fan. Unplug the unit for 3-4 hours to allowthis to melt off. If error code persists, call Customer Service.
For remaining error codes, try unplugging the unit for a couple ofminutes to reset the unit. If the error code persists, call CustomerService

ER in temp means error code next 2 letters are first letter of part giving problem or where problem located.. if " ER DH" means def heater not coming on, does not mean heater bad but def control bad not letting voltage to heater. could need main bd also

er ff means that the control board is not sensing evap fan motor operation this means either a bad fan motor ice in the fan motor or bad control board. you can verify fan operation by opening freezer door and feeling for old air blowing from back of freezer compartment. you will have to push in the light switch to get fan operation.
for corndo that has same problem you actually have a different problem. er dh means the control board is not sensing defrost heater operation. the most common culprit is a bad defrost sensor. message me back if you need instructions for trouble shooting..thx peyton

if water heater is beeping E-2 it means that the water heater has gotten to high above water heater set point. Things to check

- there hot water being feed from boiler still
- is zone valve or pump isolated stopping flow of water to water heater
-check sensor readings
