SOURCE: i have a mossberg 510

It's pretty hard to figure this out without seeing the exact pieces sitting in front of someone. What I woud suggest is that you take the gun into a gun shop, and have them help you identify where the spring goes. This is the safest thing to do, when in doubt, otherwise you could jam or otherwise cause some damage.
Perhaps someone will have a Mossman, and know your answer, but if you don't get one, call on the guys that do it for a living.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

COMMENT Federal Regulation of BB Guns Aiming to Protect Our Children

You might enquire about a product recall for the 856 but the original page referring to the recall has been removed. [email protected]

Or you could try contacting Daisy and see if they retain any information about any modification (but they are unlikely to have any parts for it, now.) The problem was that the earlier design of the 856 and 880 allowed a pellet to be lodged in the mechanism, unknown to the shooter. This could result in inaccuracy during firing. The 856 was modified to single shot rather than magazine by 2001 at which time Daisy was not found culpable in several deaths (resulting from direct firing at a party). I retrieved the findings using the Wayback Machine at the Internet Archive. The US Government site has removed the findings for some reason.

I have an older gun can't read any specs the lables are worn off, the guns safety plunger is sticking allowing for free fire of the gun. most of my other guns have a step plunger with the spring r

To find the model number, look on ebay for hitachi framers and hopefully you will find one listed that looks like yours. If no joy, take the gun to your local fastener/nailgun dealer for parts. The dealer most likely has box full of used parts for your gun. I have seen many older nailers with bent safety foot that caused the plunger to stick in the engaged position. Some nailers have the safety return spring incorporated within the trigger plunger /valve area and still others that have the spring hidden under a guard on one side of the nailer (guard part # 883493). Look under the main body of the nailer for an indention where one side of the safety spring fits into (less than 1/2 inch in diameter) ; directly below the indention will be a point on the safety foot to catch the other side of the spring. Good luck

Can't find rebuild kit for vintage powerline model AL staple gun

The head valve is sticking. You can remove the screws that hold the head valve on, remove the head, remove the valve (take pictures first if you have to. Make sure you understand how it fits together) and lightly grease the o-rings. I use white lithium here at the shop when I rebuild nailers and staplers. Once reassembled it may work correctly.

Cannot load staples

At the back of the staple gun is a flat shaped metal piece. It's at the bottom. Push in, pull down, then pull the mechanism out. You'll see it's a metal rod with a spring, that is attached to that flat metal piece. The spring pushes against another flat metal piece, that has a hole in it, and travels back, and forth on the rod.

The flat metal piece that the spring pushes down the rod, pushes against the staples.

Remove this spring mechanism, slide the staples down the rails. The staples will be in the position of an upside down U. Replace the spring mechanism, and lock it back into place. (Push in, pull up)

Should, your question be in reference to the fact that you have staples loaded, but upon pressing the trigger nothing comes out:

In the front of the staple gun, is a flat metal piece that pushes down on the staples. One staple at a time. The flat metal piece is shoved down by spring pressure. The spring pressure is applied to the flat metal piece each time you squeeze the trigger. (Flat metal piece = Hammer)

Sometimes, Two staples try to come out. When they do, this flat metal hammer is stuck up in the gun. To free the flat metal hammer, remove the spring mechanism out of the back of the staple gun. (The spring mechanism discussed above) Remove any staples in the gun.
Try to use a flat blade screwdriver, and see if you can shove the flat metal hammer in the front of the gun -> UP.
(DO NOT have the staple gun pointing at your face! DO NOT squeeze the trigger! DO NOT use excessive force)

If this method is of no avail for you, you have to disassemble the gun, and remove the metal hammer, and stuck staple/s.
