Blows air but wont get warm or hot it pretty much is the outside temp
My son recently went through this w/a 2000 Tahoe. Reverse flushing helped temporarily, but it inevitably ended up being the heater core itself. If you plan on keeping the vehicle for any length of time, it might be advisable to R&R the heater core, if Jimmy Smith's solution doesn't alleviate the issue. Good luck w/your endeavors.
The heater control operates a valve in the engine compartment allowing an adjusted amount of hot engine coolant to circulate thru the heater coil located in the heater fan box. If the valve is stuck in a closed position it will not let heated coolant pass thru the coil. Most often on vehicles with some age, the heater coil gets clogged by residue from heated coolant. If this is the case, try to back flush the heater coil. I have used a small pump and a coffee canister for a reservoir and attached temporary hoses and flushed a mixture of water and a type of radiator cleaner thru mine with much sucess. Try flushing for a few hours in one direction ...then, switch the hoses and flush in the other direction. It takes awhile , but is much cheaper than buying and installing a new heater core.

Sounds like a clogged heater core. Try useing a good raidator flush to clear the clog, if that doesn't work you need to remove it and have it boiled out.
