Hello there,

Code is 36 and definitely refers to a fan that has STOPPED
Have another close look, friend perhaps the fan sensor (if there is one) is dirty or moved ?
Thank you. Would it just be best to replace all 3 fans
It is up to you friend. I am not familiar with this machine but the code seems to suggest that only one fan has STOPPED / It should be easy to identify which one. I would personally just change the faulty one but if the others are really dirty, then as a precaution change all of them (if the price is right !!!) The trick here is to find the way the TV 'senses' how the fan has stopped. Is it a separate sensor or does the tv monitor the power to the fans ? Not having it in front of me it is hard to advise you. If you look at the 'suggested' answer below from zapdb, this looks very helpful.f
thanks

SOURCE: KDS-R60XBR2 power led blinks 4 times,
There are three fans the one that usually fails is located on top of the optical block and cannot be reached by the owner unless you take the set apart yourself. What is happening is that one of the fans are not spinning fast enough or has stopped altogether. The best solution is to replace all three fans cleaning may not be enough to get a slow fan up to speed, and the tech should blow out the dust in the duct work. This is what the tech coming out will (or should) be doing. Also some fans will have an intermittent startup, and cause this intermittently, so it is a good idea just to replace the fans instead of just cleaning them.

in this set 3 blinks means lamp cover not set properly but i think that your problem is your 6x red blinks that means you have a problem in the audio section in your set(missing a voltage) or a themal fuse open.

same problem as others 3 blinking green lights then orangey colors then 3 red blinking lights afterwards shuts down fan runs for about 2 mins solution check your door cover for warpage or deformed just a bit under set screw there is a push in switch try and push it in with q tip while holding turn on tv if it works then that door is deformed and defective change it
thanks for solving my issue tv works again very helpfull thanks

Check that the lamp door is closed all the way. There is a saftey switch that closes from the door being on all the way. If not the status light will keep blinking. There is also a switch on the air filter door.

Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.
For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.
Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:
12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filter cover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cable between FMT and Engine disconnected
