Hello there,

You SHOULD have a mechanical key to open it in case of emergencies like this..
If you purchased it, you will have the key friend.

'The electronic lock provides security and easy access and it is equipped with a mechanical key for emergency access. The door is 9 Gage and the body is 14 Gage steel to resist break-ins.'

If it is lost, you need a locksmith.

It is quicker to open it with a rare earth puck magnet that it is to enter the code! Paragon, Sentry Safe, all the same.

I changed the batteries and now I can't open the safe- do I have to reset the code and if so how?

Assuming you've not changed the master code:

To Open the safe with the master code:
Enter the master code (pre-selected 123456) and press #. The LED will show -OPEN- and the door will open automatically and at the same time the LED will show "OPENED".

I can not locate the key for my Gary safe and the batteries are dead. Can I open it without the key to change them?

No, the key is the only way to open the safe should the batteries fail or you forget the combination.

I have a safe mark safe and it tells me batt-L and still opens fine, what dose this mean?

While you can still open it, find the batteries and change them.
If they die, you may not be able to use the safe again.

Let me know what happens! I hope I was helped you & that this post is helpful to you at most! Don't forget to rate! ;)

Sentry safe S3877 have key and know combination but battery dead

Use paperclip to push in pin size hole below keyboard and then slide panel to right. Battery box is right there. Replace batteries and then was already to accept code.

Batteries are dead can't open safe

I had the same problem. We finally located where the batteries were hidden. They were below the keypad, There is a silver, plastic cover that slides to the right to expose the 4 AA batteries. Hope this helps you.
