The refrigerator is very warm. I have to keep everything in the freezer until it starts to freeze then move it back to refrigerator. What part do I need to replace? Is it the fan motor? Defrost meter? If I put too much in the freezer it freezes up forming ice under the vents.
With signs of freezing up in freezer area that would indicate a problem with the defrost components. The most likely reason would be a defrost control board. 2304093 Defrost Control Board
Here is a link to a parts manual for your model=> GR2FHTXVQ00.pdf(1101.27 KB) Look on page 3 and part location 4 That is the=> 2304093 Defrost Control BoardThe next possible parts are the 2314157 Defrost Heater Assembly found as item location 4 on page 9 of the PDF. your sure the defrost cycle works? sounds to me its not. you need to remove the freezer back and check the defrost components. or put it in the defrost cycle and see if it is working. to get that much frost as you describe the dor would have to be left open. also check all door seals. let me know what you find and we can go from there

Check the compressor with a volt meter, if the compressor is getting proper voltage then check the relay. But this sounds like a problem with the compressor

This may not be the problem now but by the sound of the malfunctioning ice maker, it could be in the future. The start device on some models of refridgerator for maytag and whirlpool have been recalled. If your appliance was manufactured in the last 5-10 years you may be having an issue with this component. Mine recently caught on fire at this device that is located near the compressor. If you would like to be a part of the petition for a recall on this appliance contact me at [email protected]

Hi Chris,
The problem would seem to be that you developed a small leak in the refrigeration system. This is also assuming that you checked and cleaned the condenser coils which are underneath the fridge. Excessive dirt could also cause this, but from what you are describing I would say the problem is more then that and you have a leak...
The only other thing would be thermostat sensor issues, but then the compressor would be cycling and not running steady...
