How do I turn LCD on. I can not see the image when I take a photo

I just purchased a new battery door for $15 with shipping from nikon. They sent a simple assembly diagram and I was able to replace the door in 30 minutes. I used a dremel to cut the old door off, but you dont have to do that. I got a little impatient.
Just buy the plastic piece and u can reuse the metal parts for your old battery door.

Most cameras are not that hard, if you are careful and willing to make notes of where each screw came from.
Be sure to get the correct screwdriver to fit the screws correctly and use enough pressure directly to loosen each screw...this is quite important, because if you strip the screw's head, it can be messy.
Most LCD screens are directly under the back cover, and can be replaced usually, once the back is off, remove three or four screw which will hold the LCD frame on. Once that is loosened, then you can carefully remove the screen and see if you need to remove anything else before loosening the cable plug. Take care here, because there are a few different ways these cables may be connected. Some are simply pushed into a connector. Some have a socket which has locks which must be loosened to remove the cable. These little sliding plug connectors are delicate, so you must take it slow and not rush the job. Some of these fold up to loosen, some simply slide away a bit to loosen the plug lock.
Most anyone who has done any delicate work on anything electronic will understand what I am talking about here.
A repair manual may be able to be downloaded for free, but you may have to be a member (usually free) in order to download manuals. Some may charge a small fee for the pdf file.
Hope it all works okay.

Your problem may be due to weak/worn out batteries or corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the camera. Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and place them back in the camera. This cleaning clears the problem about 90% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, your batteries may need to be replaced, or the camera may have a problem that requires professional repair.
