You need a couple of locking collars to keep the shaft from sliding around inside the bearing mounts.
You'll have to take the pulley off and possibly the bearings to insert the locking collars in between key areas where the collars can keep the shaft from moving in and out. You'll need to know the size of the shat (probably 3/4") to know which collars to get. You can find them online at www.indoorcomfortsupply.com
You'll probably want some leather washers also to eliminate friction between metal parts.
