SOURCE: ice maker very slow to make ice

Sir, To solve this problem, you must open the compressor area at the back bottom of the refrigerator and chek the temperature of the pressure line. If the temperature is between 55celcius to 60 than its ok. Or else you need to change the refrigerant. I suggest you to contact the service authority.

Thanks for contacting Fixya.

SOURCE: Samsung RS2555SL Ice Maker gone nutty!

The icemaker relies on the motor to twist the ice tray about 120 degrees or so the dump the ice out of the tray. In order to get the ice to separate from the tray the force of the motor actually torques the tray against the rear plastic support (much like you would twist an old fashioned ice tray that you fill up by hand). Anyway, this puts a lot of force on the plastic elements that support the tray and they break after time. Once the plastic support breaks in the back there is nothing to get the ice out of the tray and each subsequent filling of the ice tray results in water spilling all over the ice bin and eventually leaking out the front of the refrigerator. You can order the part and fix it yourself (the part is DA61-00244A and is available from a number of websites. Total cost about $16 with shipping.

For a GE refrigerator model GFSF6KEX, how do you remove the ice tray? (Not the freezer drawer, just the tray.)

To remove the ice tray from your GE refrigerator model GFSF6KEX, follow these steps:

Empty the Ice: Before removing the ice tray, empty it of any ice cubes. This will make it easier to handle.
Locate the Ice Tray: The ice tray is typically located in the freezer compartment, usually near the ice dispenser or ice maker.
Grasp the Bottom Edge: Stand in front of the freezer and open the door. Grasp the bottom edge of the ice tray on the sides. Be cautious not to place your fingers near the opening at the bottom front part of the bucket where the crusher blades are located.
Lift Up the Front: Lift up on the front of the ice tray so that it clears the stops on the ice bucket rail.
Pull the Tray Forward: Pull the ice tray forward and out of the freezer compartment.
Reinstalling the Tray: To reinstall the ice tray, follow these steps:
Line up the flange pieces on the sides of the tray with the channels in the ice bucket rails.
As you push the ice tray all the way back, lift the front of the tray so that it clears the stops on the front of the ice bucket rails.
Verify that the tray is properly inserted by pulling it forward. It should hit the stops on the rail and not come out. If it does, push the tray further back.
Check for Misalignment: If you're unable to push the ice tray all the way back, it might be due to a misalignment between the back of the auger (located in the tray) and the prongs on the auger motor (mounted in the back freezer wall). To fix this:
Remove the ice tray.
Close the freezer door.
Press the dispenser for cubed or crushed ice; you should hear a snap.
Open the door again and reinstall the ice tray.
Remember to handle the ice tray carefully, especially if it's full of ice.

1 month old Samsung RF28HFEDTSR. No ice in upper ice compartment. All Ice drops to bucket in freezer section. I press reset button it dings and soon one group of ice falls in upper bucket.

I believe something's wrong with your new ice maker. Are you sure that the ice maker is not turned off on the display? And take a little bit of time and go through your user manual if you don't have the user manual let me know I will send you one

Cannot get rid of "ice off" light. any ideas please

When ICE OFF blinks on the display panel, reinsert the bucket and/or make sure it's installed properly.- When the door is open, the Ice and water dispenser do not work.- If you close the door hard, it may cause water spilling over the ice maker.- To prevent dropping the ice bucket, use both hands when removing it.- To prevent injury, be sure to clean up any ice or water that may have dropped on the fl oor.- Do not let children hang on the ice dispenser or on the bucket. They may get hurt.- Be sure not to put your hand or any object into the ice chute. It may cause personal injury or damage mechanical parts.

Removed ice bucket to clean & now unable to return it into freezer how is this done?

Lift the ice level bar to the up position, the bucket should easily slide back in place. Make sure to drop the ice level bar back into down position to allow for ice to be made.

Where is the ice maker reset button on a Samsung RS265TDRS?

This ice maker is on the door, so
remove ice bucket
move your fingers up under the ice maker tray guard on the left side until you find a button
you may have to press this several times, perhaps hold down firmly until you see some action
then quickly replace bucket & close door

My Samsung rs2630 ice maker quit working and water will leak out of the ice tray. Large ice steams appear in my exit dispenser and down the back side of my freezer

The water valve that feeds water to the icemaker for 7 seconds each cycle is leaking by when it is supposed to be closed. You can prove this by first turning the ice maker OFF and then removing the placstic line on the back of the unit that connects to the rubber thru the chassis water tube. (Just pull down on the tube) Place the removed tube in a bucket for about 8 hours. If there is ANY water in the bucket the water valve is laking by when it is supposed to be closed. The only fix for this is to replace the water valve.

Thanks for Choosing FixYa.
