You have to run an audio cable from the TV to the sounder and put the sounder on the TV input for sound to work. The first choice audio cable for best sound would be optical cable if your tv has optical output on it. If it does then you would put the sounder on the din input for sound when watching antenna or any hdmi source connected directly to tv. If your TV only as analog rca out or mini audio out then put sounder on aux input. I think your sounder came with mini to mini stereo cable. If your TV doesn't have mini audio out the get a optical cable or you can find a mini to rca red/white will work. Optical is your BEST connection and soundbar would stay on din all the time for best sound.

Sharp televisions don't work like you need them to when connecting them to a 5.1 sound system. You can connect them with a fiber optic cable from their digital audio out to the sound system's digital audio in BUT when you turn everything on no sound comes out of the sound system. So you start checking connections and troubleshooting, call Sharp, and maybe even call the sound system manufacturer. You may get a customer service representative knowledgeable enough to explain to you that Sharp televisions were designed without center channel capability. This means that the only use for the digital audio out is to get sound from your sound system when watching tv channels when your Sharp television is connected to your rooftop antenna only or directly to basic digital cable with no cable box or satellite tv receiver. Yes I just stated that you only connect the sound system to the Sharp television when you are watching over the air broadcasts or basic digital cable without a cable box.

People say "but that doesn't make any sense." But it is true. Sometimes you will get lucky and connect a Sharp television to the sound system with the fiber optic cable and get sound out of one of the devices you've connected to the Sharp television with an hdmi cable. You will then be directed by the customer service rep to connect all your devices to the sound system and connect them all to the television as well OR connect all your devices to the sound system with hdmi cables and connect the sound system to the television with one hdmi cable.

I hope this helps. You have to connect your sound bar to your cable box/satellite tv receiver. If you are connecting with composite or component cables you connect the video cables (either the yellow or the green blue and red cables) between the television and the cable box /satellite tv receiver. Like above, use an optical connection (need fiber optic cable) or a coaxial connection (single RCA cable). HDMI might also work, but I personally haven't checked. Connect the audio outs from the cable box to the audio ins on the home theater. The TV will only need a video connection from the cable box, as well as one from the home theater (for DVDs, onscreen menus).

ok your tv does not come with the very best sound, you have to get a receiver 7.1 or you can use the optical wire , that's if the system you are using has that option.
