That is because you may have connected to yahoo.com and lost the home page default. In internet explorer whilst you are in Google home page you select Internet options from the tools menu and in General tab where is has space for default page you click "use current' and ok. That should save google as home page. Exit explorer and select again to make it work.

SOURCE: I cannot get Yahoo ! to load as my home page

What browser? Did you change it in the preferences (Internet Options control panel for Internet Explorer; in Firefox, Tools: Options).

If it's Internet Explorer giving you problems, please allow me to recommend trying Firefox. It's faster, it's safer and it's pretty friendly to use. It's also free.

SOURCE: Can't open email account or even get Yahoo home

No it could be a problem with your cache. Try accessing yahoo using www.proxy.com and in the upper right hand corner type in www.yahoo.com and see if the site loads behind a proxy. If it does you need to clear your history, cache, etc.... If it does not then chances are there site is down.

How do I get Google back as my home page?

Make an account on Google. It is free. When you have a Google account, start using it.
When you want to make Google your start page, you need to change the settings in your browser.

To make it your favourite or startup home page in;
IE9 in the menu Extra you find the gear wheel. Click there. Then on the tab General click on Start page and type in your favourite.

Firefox On the top left on the orange button Firefox / Options click on general and in the box start page type your favourite.

How do I change MY home box back to Yahoo.co

You can set yahoo.com as your home page in your browser by setting it as the default in your browser settings:

For instance, if you are using Internet Explorer as your browser, start up (launch) your IE browser, Click on the "Tools" tab on the far right (top) corner of the page - to see a drop-down window; select/click on "Internet Options" to open up a window. At the top box (General tab) ... you can enter the URL address of the home page ... i.e. www.yahoo.com Then, click Apply ... and OK

From then on, whenever you start up (launch) your IE browser, it will display the www.yahoo.com page.

This can also be done for other (common) browsers, like Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, etc. If you are using one of these other browsers and would like specific step-by-step instructions, simply indicate so in your follow-up comments.

Gmail+google as homepage after unexpected changes

I'm guessing that you're having the same problem as I've been trying to deal with.. I used igoogle as my home page for years... and NOW IT'S GONE... Everything I've tried to replace it with is very disappointing. You're probably like me in that you don't want to simply tell Google to stuff it, because you probably want to keep your g-mail address, and possibly some other things. All Google is going to offer you now is a page with the different Google apps... plus a Google App Store to give you the option of having more apps. .. but, basically you cannot have a Google Home Page as we've known it,... from Google, anyway. I've basically settled on going back to Yahoo, so that I can have a home page like I want. You can, if it's still possible, import your data from most of your Google apps, into a Yahoo account, where they'll show up on your Yahoo Home Page. Yahoo has import options for you to use to accomplish this. You'll need to provide Yahoo with your G-mail address and your password. You'll have to fool with this a while in order to accomplish what you want... but, I consider it, all the way around, to be your best option to spend your time and efforts on. As soon as I'm willing to give up my G-mail address and to redo my Google calenders, I'm going to give Google the one-finger salute and put all my eggs in a different basket.... probably Yahoo.

My computer has been slammed with a Google home page when I had a Yahoo home page and was very happy with it-why?

You probably installed some software and allowed that software (such as Adobe Reader) to install the Google Toolbar.

Close Internet Explorer
Open "Control Panel"
Open "Add/Remove Programs"
Select "Google Toolbar"
Uninstall it
Start Internet Explorer
Change the "home" page back to 'www.yahoo.com'.

Your home page is most likely set to google.com, in order to change this, open Internet Explorer, click on Tools, click Internet Options, and change the home page to www.yahoo.com.
To access your email, click on mail on the left side of the page, and type in your user name and password.
