My washing was working fine until the other day. I noticed it leaking and that usually means I need to clean the area at the bottom of the drain hose. So I did. Then it would fill up, wash/agitate, drain then start to fill for the rinse cycle. However it wouldn't stop filling. It doesn't overflow because as it's filling it's draining. I had this problem once before and it was the drain hose...it wasn't at a proper angle. So I checked that and readjusted it. Still doesn't work. Now it won't fill for the wash cycle. The water just runs and runs, never overflows cause it's just draining out. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE any help would be great. My mother in law is comming next weekend for the holidays and I am up to my eyeballs in linens to wash!!
It's not necessarily the angle of your drain hose. When it drains as you fill it, it's called a siphon condition. Pull the excess hose out of the stand pipe (drain). Only about 6" should remain inside the pipe. Tie it down with a plastic tie to one of your fill hoses to prevent water pressure from pushing it back out. This should solve your problem.
