SOURCE: water leaking and freezing in bottom of freezer

You will have to remove the rear evaporator shroud. The drain system is accessed from the interior freezer compartment; you will see several Phillips screws holding the rear panel to the freezer rear wall. Remove the rear panel and clear the drain system by removing the ice build up and poor boiling water down the drain to melt and residual ice and to assist in removing any debris that may be blocked in the drain system. Once the drain is clear you will notice water flowing down the drain as you poor it in. Please keep in mind that the defrost drain pan located under your Refrigerator may overflow if there is an excess amount of water

SOURCE: Bottom of freezer has water dripping into it

We had a similar problem. It ended up being a frozen pea that fell down into the defrost drain and was blocking the water from draining out each time the freezer defrosted.

SOURCE: Freezer Drain Clogged

I had to remove the shelves out of the freezer then removed the plastic casing located in the side rear, this will expose the cooling cords, underneath the cords is a medal drip pan, I removed the single screw and removed the medal drip pan this gave me access to the drain, I used hot water which seems to have cleared up problem.

SOURCE: Maytag MZD2766GE side by side, fridge not getting cold.

Your timer for the automatic defrost is defective. Replace it. If you thawed out the back of the freezer, this could be good for 3-7 days and it will freeze up again. I had the same trouble.

SOURCE: Freezer leaks water even after water supply turned off

Remove the food from the lower portion of the freezer and remove the 2 screws which hold the rear freezer panel on . Remove the panel and use a hair dryer to defrost the ice built up over the drain . Once you see the black drain hole , concentrate on defrosting the hole . Once defrosted , the ice water will drain into the hole . I would use a small hose inserted into the drain and blow thru , to remove any debris built up inside the drain . Reinstall the panel and food .

Water in Bottom of Refrigerator/How disconnect icemaker

Hi, Remove the ice maker by loosening the screws that hold it to the wall. Once it is loose, there is enough wire that you can unplug the icemaker and set it aside. Now remove the rear panel and you can unplug the drain. Be sure and flush hot water through the drain to be sure it is oen.
I hope this helps you.
Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Frozen water in bottom of freezer

Every ten to twelve hours your refrigerator activates a heating element around the evaporator to defrost the accumulation of frost that develops on the evaporator. Behind the back panel there is an evaporator pan it has a rubber grommet with a hole in it this is your defrost drain hose it is clogged. Unplug or switch refrigerator off at breaker panel, remove panel covering evaporator area (rear panel in freezer), use a hair dryer or hot water to unclog defrost drain a turkey baster works well to make sure the hose is unclogged.
the water that drains down this hose accumulates in the defrost drain pan in the base of the refrigerator under normal operation the heat from the refrigeration system evaporates this water. The drain pan has a limited capacity so do not poor more than 20-20oz of hot water down the hose after you unclog it. If you poor to much it wont hurt anything just make a mess youll have to clean up.

Water leaking under frigerator on the left side

HI,

your drain is clogged. you may have a catch for your drain where you see leak coming from. that may pull off and you can see if their is trash build up in it. you are going to need to take the panel off the back of freezer. inside back of freezer you will see screws. they will need to come out, If you have ice maker that will need to be removed also. once back panel is off you will see your coils beneath the coils it will most likely have a sheet of ice. turn machine off and take a hair dryer and defrost the ice. once ice is gone take a cup of hot water and run thru drain to see if unclogged. repeat if drain is not clear. the ice in drain tube will eventually un clog. use a steamer. much quicker.

any further question let me know.

Upright freezer

the water is coming from the freezer when is defrosts. the drain line is in the back wall of the freezer and may be clogged up with ice. clean out the freezer and pour some hot water in the very back of the freezer, this will hopefully unclog the drain. if not, then you have to take the back wall out of the freezer to get directly to the drain line. there should just be a couple screws holding it; it is just an aluminum or plastic panel.

if you already checked this and think it is a different problem then let me know, i will help you figure it out.

Leaking frig.

  • take out the back wall of the freezer and physically clean out the line. you may need to run a coat hanger or something down the drain to unclog it. also pour some hot water down the drain after you think you have it unclogged.

Clogged fridge drain tube

The drain is behind the back panel in the freezer at the bottom. Sounds like it is frozen over which is pretty common. Will need to remove panel and thaw out drain by running hot water down. You can use a putty knife to break up ice first. Make sure you get all ice around the drain above and below the thin aluminum tray at the bottom. After the drain is free don't be alarmed if you get some water on the floor because the drain pan may not hold all of the water you ran down the drain. Not anything you can do to prevent this on this model.
