Leaking sinkmaster 850 garbage disposal

I ave a Sinkmaster 850 garbage disposal that leaks when the water faucet is turned on and draining into the disposal portion of the sink. The disposal does not have to be turned on to leak. The leak is at the bottom of the unit. How can I fix this leak? I guess I need a schematic of the unit to know what is causing the leak. I assume it may be an O ring seal part, not sure.

I do not see disposals on your list. I am choosing a category to allow this to submit.

I have had these apart. The leak is from a seal around the motor shaft. By the time it is leaking the shaft has pitted to the point a new seal will not repair it. Getting it apart can result in damaged parts as it is sealed together with very tight tolerances and a glue like sealer.

The problem is that the plumber's putty seal has a void in it. Disassemble the drain and replace the plumbers putty and you will no longer leak.

When I use the blender, oil comes out of the motor

The seal on the shaft is leaking, the cost of paying someone to replacing it would be more than what the machine is worth, unless you can DIY.

Your food processor will leak if you have too much liquid in there. Try using something else. Maybe see if Target will exchange it for something different.

My Magic Bullet will not start or run. it does not twist in the base. How can I fix that?

Sounds like the white plastic sliders that turn the motor on and off may be stuck. The sliders engage the 3 tabs on the mixer cup which the push down and turn the motor on. Probably have some leakage from the mixing cup gumming the white sliders up. Unplug the mixer from power and use a cloth or sponge fairly wet with some hot water to try and loosen up the stuff under the sliders. Then spritz the sliders with some WD-40 which will displace the water. Dry it off good with a paper towel, let it dry/drain well upside down on a paper towel before you plug it back in. Good luck.

Krups xl6 combi blender leaking

Broken fin may not cause the leak because it has no contact with the content. Bad gasket can cause leak. The are available at houseware stores.

Yes you can buy a replacement seal which you can get through your supplier. Do you have an exploded view. By the time we got the replacement and fitted it we were not sure how it went in and the user manual does not even mention the seal

Food processor

I phoned the 800 number at Cuisinart (800-243-8540) and the person who answered the phone explained to me what to do: Fill the bowl with the hottest tap water I have (but not boiling) above the entire blade (including the part that fits over the shaft). He said to pulse a few times, then try to pull it off, but not to expect it to work right away. He said to do this until it comes off and that it could take 1/2 hour. I did what he said, and the blade came off after the first pulses. But also, the water was pouring out all over the counter--leaking between the bowl and the base (possibly because my old work bowl is also cracked, but I'm not sure).

I was told that the problem would happen again, and that I needed replace the blade and the shaft (which is cracked, as he guessed), both of which are available from Cuisinart.
