Most models have a adjustment screw either in the cover or in the saw near the chain, when you adjust make sure the 2 stud bolt nuts holding the bar are tight. Also keep in mind on a new saw chain it will stretch to start with and you will have to adjust often at first. Make sure both halves of the saw around the bar are clean and mounted correctly. There should be no gap and that once adjusted and tightened you double check it, and make sure that both nuts are equally tight. When you have the chain off next time check the adjustment screw, it should have a pin on the screw and a e clip that keeps it in place. Good luck

Check to be sure the pin that moves the bar forward to tension the chain is not broken off. That same pin may be in the wrong hole in the bar.

The chain keeps coming loose

If the chain keeps coming lose it can be down to a number of things, inadiquate oil to the chain, incorrect type of oil in the tank, poor quaility chain, worn sprocket and or guide bar.

The blade keeps slipping off after a couple of minutes of use, the tension is as required. Why does it keep coming off?

Hi luvmylife63.
If you have the proper tension on the chain against the bar and the chain is coming loose right away then you need to replace your chain and/or the bar for your chainsaw.

Chain keeps coming off bar

The chain only comes off the bar if, the chain has become lose and de railed, or if the timber you are cutting is very springy and you are trapping it in the cut, our twisting it in the cut, if the saw is not oiling the chain correctly it will stretch and if not addressed will come off, once it has come off the drive links are usually damaged, you should realy start again with a new chain, when running close to a clean peice of wood you should a steady stream of chain oil coming from the end of the guide bar.

Chain adjustment seems too have some type of problem; it keeps leting the chain come loose or off. ever couple of cuts

The chain adjuster does not actually hold the guide bar, that is done by the bar nut/nuts, the main reason for chains coming lose is inadiquate chain oil to the bar/chain, does the chain look dry? it can also be the result of what you are cutting, if it is very dirty timber or railway sleepers.

I'm having trouble keeping the chains on my John Deere Tractor. I put them on exactly how the diagram said. They seem pretty tight but they keep falling off when I get out there during snow removal. ...

you need to make shure the chains fit the tire snug and then you need to put a rubber tension band (they usually don't come with the chains) you can get them at a walmart or auto parts store, about $2 for 2 of them and come with little s hooks that you secure to the chain, instructios are on the package, the rubber band you put on the chains on the outside of chains and it keeps tension on the chains so they won't be lose and fall off. hope this helps.

Chain keeps falling off

Have you stripped the studs that hold the guide bar in position? It is the only thing I can think of unless the guide bar has worn down so much there isn't a deep enough groove to guide the chain

We have an 18" boys huffy bike and the chain keeps falling off. How can I repair.

If a single speed bike loosen the rear wheel and pull it back away from the pedals to get the chain tighter

If it has multi gears the arm hanging down has a ser screw that will need to be adjusted to align the chain to stop at the last gear

Chain comes off mcculloch electramac em250 chain saw

Your chain is too loose or it is worn out. Adjust the tension on the chain. The chain should not hang away from the bar but should be loose enough that you can pull it away from the bar with not much effort. Adjust the tension until it is set correctly.
