My ice dispenser quit dispensing ice although the ice maker does make ice. What could be wrong?
Could be blocked up in the shute. remove all ice from the freezer and check that the ice shute (leading to the dispenser outlet) is clear. Let the freezer create a batch of ice (normally about 4 to 5 hours) and see if it dispenses then. If not , it could be a failed auger motor. That is the main corkscrew looking drive which pulls the ice into the shute. Check the icemaker in the freezer, and look for a button on the side or underneath the icemaker. Most manufacturers put one there to test the icemaker. Press the icemaker ice dispenser button and see or hear if the auger is turning.

Tammi, you first want to check to make sure the water inlet tube to the icemaker is not frozen shut. Next, get yourself a jumper wire about 4 inches long with the ends stripped exposing the wire on each end. Pull off the ice maker cover, it will pull right off. Now you are looking at the module. On the module, left side, you will see two test points marked V and L. Insert one end of the jumper wire into V and the other marked L. You are now sending 120 volts to the water valve and water should fill the ice maker providing the inlet tube is not frozen over. If it doesn't fill, you either have a bad water valve or module itself. Also check to see if the clips that hold the center gear on the module are not broken. Catriver..post back.

First pull out the ice bucket and close the door. Set for cubed ice. Press the button for ice to come out and listen for a loud clunk noise. That is the sound of the solenoid. You can open the door, hold the light switch and press the button and watch for the solenoid moving up and down. Solenoid is at the back of the freezer in a little square opening where the rod on the ice bucket goes into. If that solenoid is moving ok then put the bucket back in while the solenoid is in the down position and cubes should work. If solenoid is not working then it will need to be replaced. To All With This Same Problem ,
Remove the top freezer door hinge cover ( 1 screw holding it on ) , and disconnect the plug there . This will disconnect the power to the door dispensor .
Using a butter knife or small screwdriver , insert it in the bottom of the dispensor cover between the grill and the cover .
Push down and in wards , to force the bottom of the cover outward , being careful not to break the 2 or 3 built on plastic clips on the cover .
After the lower portion has been disconnected , lift the cover up to disconnect the top clips and then remove the plug on the cover .
The white piece on the dispensor now visible , is the bracket control .
The switch on the right side , is for water , the switch on the left side , is for ice . Usually , the ice switch , has a broken " spear " , which holds the switch in place . The whole bracket control , pt # 2180226 , will have to be replaced . Only 2 or 4 screws hold it on .
This part is easily replaceable by the consumer .
Just be careful when installing the switch , not to break the new " spears " and be sure to reinstall the plastic " spacers " in the same spot on the new bracket .
When reinstalling the dispensor cover , slip the top on first , and just lightly " pop " the bottom back in place .
