I have the same POS mower. It's getting plenty of fuel, no trash in the line, cleaned the carb spotless, cleaned the tiny holes in the main jet bolt, changed oil, new spark plug, changed gas, cleaned air filter, and played with adjustment on main jet bolt (which you cant turn much or it starts leaking). If it sits for a few days, it will start and then run for about 3-5 minutes. I guess I can just mow a little bit every day. What a pile of junk this mower is.
I have the same mower and problem. Found out the issue was the carburetor. Pull the Carb and do a quick cleaning. Order the replacement kit prior to working on. My bowl o-ring was shot and I couldn't get a seal after cleaning it out.
Yes, I had a very similar problem and was unable to come to a solution. I cleaned the carburetor out and was able to get 2 more mows out before it died completely again. I then wasted several hours cleaning all the fuel lines and carburetor again - I must have made things worse because now the engine won't even turn over! I noticed that Toro has switch to a Briggs and stratton engine. I'm really disappointed that a $340 mower only lasted me 3 mowing seasons. Recently I bought an even more expensive Honda - hopefully I'll get the 10 years or so I've heard rumored a lawn mower could last.
Tecumseh motor has a round fuel bowl. Mine has a 1/2 bolt that holds it to ththe carb. 1) Secure the gas line so no more fuel goes into the carb. Take ththe bolt out, It acts as a fuel meter as well. there is a small hole thru that bolt. Clean out the bolt w/ carb cleaner. You will notice it's hollow and should be able to blow air thru this when clean. Folks this has solved my studdering, starting but not staying running issues with this mower. Knowing this fix you can buy these mowers cheap at garage sales and make them run in 15 mins. enjoy
Try changing coil. Find a used one (lot cheaper won't be out much if doesn't work) space it from magneto with busniess card
