It sounds like the belt is slipping, was it the correct belt for your model? if you check the belt is it tight? if not it is possibly too long and will slip in the pulleys.
It is absulutley possible, cheap belts have a different diameter through out there length and will set up a vibration, also slack belts will set up vibrations, you also need to the check the balance of the blades, and the condition of the blade pulleys
