I get error message 5B00 waste ink absorber full. What should I do?

Hello
Replacing the waste ink absorber is a service procedure which is not documented in the user manual, it is documented in the service manual.

the part needs to be replaced and then the printer needs to be reset, this can be performed with either a button combination or with a service tool, which is only available to service personnel.

it would be best to send this printer to canon for repair.

IP4000 powers on for only one second and then dies

From the service manual, this complaint is caused by a power supply problem.

To repair, one needs to replace the power/logic board. This requires updating the EPROM after installing the board.

Solution - trash it and buy a new printer.

My Canon PIXMA iP4000 stopped working with the following messages; (1) error no. 5200 a problem has occured with the printer mechanism (2) cannot print properly because of print head overheating (3)...

first of all the error message is correct when it said that the print head is overheating, this may be cause or triggered by a full waste ink.

will be able to see the steps on how to do it when upi download the Service Manual for your printer.
