Tractor does not start. Why does it not even turn over? Why did it suddenly stop while running without any warning? what should my next step be?
DOES IT TURN OVER BY HAND? IF IT WAS LOW OR RUN OUT OF OIL IT MAY HAVE SEIZED UP AND THE CRANKSHAFT AND CONNECTING ROD HAVE LOST THEIR BEARING SURFACE AND SEIZED. pERHAPS YOUR STARTER MOTOR IS FROZEN UP AND NEEDS REPAIR/REPLACEMENT. i DON'T HAVE MUCH TO GO ON WITH THE SHORT DESCRIPTION AND NOT MANY DETAILS.

Hello brookspiercy:
From your Description it Sounds like a New Belt is Required and Possibly a New Clutch Idler Arm or Idler Pulley. The Grinding Sound like it May be the Bearings of the Clutch Idler Pulley.
