No services found saying on screen

there is no auto tune on a remote
you press the menu on the remote and takes you to an on screen menu
navigate until you get auto tune and wait until all channels are found
some go straight back to viewing and other require that you press the ok button then the exit button on the remote

Test the signal strength using analogue tv mode and teletext page 284. If this shows no issue open up the TV tuning menu and use 'Manual Tume' until the missing channel shows on the screen and then Save.

Before tuning the set to auto tune mode, make sure the antenna or cable, whatever may, connected to its appropriate sockets at the back of the set firmly. To make it autotune:

As new services are broadcast, it will be necessary to

re-tune the television in order to view them.

Auto Tuning will completely re-tune the television

and can be used to update the channel list. It is

recommended that Auto Tuning is run periodically to
ensure that all new services are added. All current

Up or Down buttons. Press OK and Setup menu

A screen will appear warning that previous digital

programmes and settings will be deleted. Select Yes
and press OK to continue with the Auto tuning.

The television will start to search for all available

stations.You must allow the television to complete

the search. When the search is complete the Auto

tuning screen will display the total number of
services found.

* After search is completed for digital channels, a

message asking whether to search for analogue
channels appears on the screen

** Press the OK button to search for analogue

channels. The following menu appears on the screen
for analogue channel search
OK.

The problem you are describing is a faulty ad board and should be looked at by a service engineer.

To check if it is your antenna or TV, see if you can display ANY other signal, say from a VCR, a DVD, or a PC. IF it does, then either your antenna is NO good, or the Tuner in the TV has gone bad.

Give auto tune or go for manual tuning and try it.. But most probably the old model TVs may not have the particular band width capability to show those channels...

you could try adjusting the screen resolution in My Computer/Control Panel/Display this may help.

Also have a look to see if the Adaptor, is set for optimal refresh rate.

unfortunately tramission has been changed and certain boxes have an auto tune process as a loop. the box will work but you will have to deselect it everytime from time to time. i have the same problem with the same model. idt59g i believe. its down to the local argos with another 20 pounds to get a newer one im afraid.
i did try to turn off the auto tune option but have had no luck

Often when using a Sky box, one doesn't use the channel tuning feature of the Polaroid HDTV. Often one connects the Sky box to a component video input, and the Sky box does the tuning.

On the Notification screen with Cable highlighted I found that left clicking on Cable gave a drop down menu with TV on it for selection. The manual says that while Cable is highlighted, use the up or down arrows to get TV to be an option and then select it and Yes and enter. Hope this helps. I have other problems with my monitor on Line Out, the screen oftens turns blue indicating low or no video using Line 1 or 2 inputs.
